In This Role
In This Role
In this role, you will design, build, and support cloud-native security data pipelines that process large-scale system and security logs from distributed environments. You will work on transforming raw data into structured, compliance-ready outputs used by security and governance teams. The role involves reviewing existing data flows, modernizing pipeline components, and implementing automation so solutions can be deployed consistently across multiple isolated and sovereign cloud environments. You will collaborate closely with engineers across different time zones and contribute to scalable, secure, and reliable data processing systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and delivering security and system log data
- Review, optimize, and troubleshoot query logic to ensure accuracy, performance, and reliability of data pipelines
- Implement orchestration workflows using cloud-native data integration tools for ETL/ELT processes
- Define and maintain infrastructure-as-code artifacts for repeatable and automated deployments
- Support deployment pipelines to enable consistent releases across multiple cloud environments
- Monitor pipeline health, investigate failures, and perform data quality analysis
- Contribute to refactoring efforts that reduce platform dependencies and improve scalability
- Maintain and manage service configuration files and deployment parameters
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Create and maintain technical documentation and design artifacts
- Participate in code reviews and CI/CD processes
- Support surge efforts when scaling pipelines for new environments or regions
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or DevOps roles
- Strong experience with database query languages, preferably Kusto; experience with SQL or similar languages is acceptable
- Hands-on experience building and troubleshooting data orchestration pipelines
- Experience with deployment automation and infrastructure-as-code tools
- Strong engineering skills in at least one programming language such as C# or PowerShell
- Experience designing or supporting scalable, distributed systems
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows
- Ability to debug complex data flows and manage pipeline dependencies
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across distributed teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud-native analytics platforms such as Azure Data Explorer (Kusto)
- Experience deploying cloud resources using Bicep or ARM templates
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for data and infrastructure deployments
- Experience supporting multi-region or multi-environment deployments
- Knowledge of security and compliance practices in cloud environments
- Experience working in restricted, isolated, or regulated environments
- Active U.S. Government Security Clearance (preferred but not required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
Salary Range
Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, without limitation, skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographic based ranges for Washington state: $90,000- $100,000 USD annually. The salary/wage and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
