We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join us as we build cutting-edge technology solutions! This is your opportunity to be part of a team that is committed to delivering best in class service to our customers.
In this role,
you will support and improve automated test infrastructure for core operating system storage and file system components. You’ll spend your days analyzing test results, separating true product defects from test issues, and strengthening test reliability so engineering teams can trust quality signals. The work blends hands-on debugging, test modernization, and close collaboration with developers to improve system stability at scale.
This role offers deep exposure to low-level systems software and the opportunity to contribute to features used by millions of devices worldwide.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze automated test runs to identify failures and anomalies
- Triage issues to determine whether failures are caused by product defects or test issues
- Debug and fix legacy tests to reduce test noise and improve signal quality
- Convert older test frameworks into modern testing platforms and infrastructure
- Create, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts
- Document software defects using a bug tracking system and follow through to resolution
- Collaborate with developers to investigate high-impact product bugs
- Address low-complexity test issues independently to improve overall test stability
- Track defect trends and maintain databases of known test issues
- Plan testing schedules and strategies aligned with project timelines and scope
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
- 5–6 years of experience in software testing or quality engineering roles
- Strong proficiency in C and C++, including debugging and code analysis
- Experience with scripting languages, particularly PowerShell
- Experience developing, executing, and maintaining automated test solutions
- Ability to analyze test results and provide actionable recommendations
- Experience writing test documentation, including test plans, scripts, and reports
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with C# in test or tooling scenarios
- Familiarity with storage systems, file systems, or operating system internals
- Experience modernizing or migrating legacy test frameworks
- Background in debugging large, complex systems or infrastructure-level software
- Experience improving test quality metrics, such as reducing test noise or false positives
- Strong collaboration skills when working with development and engineering teams
Salary Range
Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, without limitation, skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographic based ranges for Washington state: $45.67– $48.08 per hour USD/hour. The salary/wage and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
