Senior Accounts Payable Specialist
The Opportunity
Brunswick Group is looking for a proactive, service-oriented Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Dallas office. Your primary tasks will include supporting the expense report process, providing support processing invoices and completing other ad hoc AP work. The nature of this role requires you to be a continuous advocate and champion of our accounts payable policies and procedures, as part of a team of other like-minded professionals in both New York City and Dallas.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- The primary role of the position will be to support the Accounts Payable process, including processing employee expenses, vendor invoices and preparing related accounting entries
- Ensure processing of payments for invoices and expenses within established guidelines and controls
- Manage the weekly payment run of vendor invoices, preparing/providing supporting documentation and schedules for Senior management to review
- Research and resolve invoice and expense issues with internal employees and external vendors
- Assist management with AP ad hoc projects as necessary for the finance team
- Assist in the preparation of regular expense reporting and analysis in a continued effort in giving upper management insights into spending trends
To qualify for this role, you must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or equivalent work experience
- A strong foundation in general accounting principles and processes
- At least 5 years of progressive Accounts Payable or Accounting experience
- Strong PC and Microsoft application skills
- Gravitas, excellent communication abilities, high energy, and a strong work ethic
- Discretion with confidential matters and professional polish
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills a must
- Ability to prioritize and multitask while remaining collaborative and team-oriented
- Knowledge of 1099 vendors
- Intermediate or advanced experience with Excel
- Strong Communication skills
While not required, the following would be a plus:
- International work experience or knowledge
- Multi-lingual
- CPA certification
- Experience with Concur and expense reporting
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics
