The Pediatric Spiritual Support Counselor is responsible as a member of the interdisciplinary team for providing spiritual and supportive services to the pediatric team and to patients and their families in accordance with the patient/family desires and belief system.

Bi-lingual in Spanish a huge plus!!

Monday - Friday; 8:30am - 5:00pm

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Provide spiritual/pastoral services when indicated and appropriate as soon as possible after admission
Complete a chaplain’s spiritual assessment for patients requesting spiritual
Provide pastoral/spiritual counseling for patient/family in accordance with patient/family on-going wishes, needs, and applicable traditions including bereavement follow up with family as appropriate
Provide age and developmentally appropriate assessment of and support to patient and siblings as indicated

Education/Experience:

Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology or equivalent education in a related field
Masters of Divinity preferred
Minimum of two years’ experience providing spiritual support services to pediatric patients and their families, preferably in a health care setting, or equivalent experience in a chaplaincy or in pastoral counseling

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Appropriate ordination or certification in hospital or pastoral
Pediatric ELNEC certification preferred within the first year of employment

Pay Range:
$34.00 - $42.25 hourly
