Role Summary
We are looking for a passionate and curious Geospatial Data Science Intern to support our business development teams. You’ll work with cutting-edge spatial data tools to help identify, assess, and visualize optimal locations for renewable energy development. This is an exciting opportunity to work on real-world energy challenges in a data-driven and impact-oriented company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and process geospatial datasets (e.g., satellite imagery, topography, land use, infrastructure, meteorological data)
  • Assist in building and maintaining geospatial models and dashboards for site screening
  • Support development of automated spatial data pipelines
  • Conduct spatial analysis and visualization to support decision-making
  • Present insights and findings in clear, actionable formats

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Geoinformatics, Data Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Familiarity with geospatial analysis tools (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS, Google Earth Engine)
  • Geospatial and spatiotemporal analysis, remote sensing, image processing experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Python (especially with packages like GeoPandas, Rasterio, Folium, or similar) to develop clean, efficient pipelines and workflows, ensuring reproducibility and effective team collaboration
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, paired with the ability to develop creative and efficient solutions
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Interest in renewable energy and climate change

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with large spatial datasets or satellite imagery (e.g., Sentinel, Landsat)
  • Knowledge of machine learning for spatial analysis
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) or remote sensing APIs

Internship Details

  • Duration: 12-24 weeks (flexible start date)
  • Paid internship
