Job Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Financial Administration team. The Senior Accountant reports to the Senior Manager – Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting and is accountable for the overall integrity of the general ledger, timely preparation of financial statements, support of budgeting and forecasting activities, and preparing and reviewing general journal entries and account reconciliations. Provides quarterly support for external filings. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who possesses strong analytical and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger through regular journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis of account balances.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger account reconciliations, ensuring balances are appropriately supported
- Support the preparation of internal financials, 10-Qs, 10-Ks, earnings releases, and other investor materials
- Interpret monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures
- Assist with general ledger close processes, such as allocations, FX rates, internal report preparation, and consolidation
- Assist with external auditor requests related to quarterly reviews, annual audits, and SOX 404 audits
- Train, mentor, and oversee staff accountants, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes, increase efficiency, and strengthen internal controls.
- Participate in special projects, ad hoc analyses, and cross-functional initiatives as requested by management
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Trustworthy with attention to maintaining confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Oracle and Workday
- Previous experience working for a US publicly traded company preferred.
- Experience with SOX controls preferred.
