TITLE: Senior Data Engineer
HOURS: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm


DUTIES: This position is responsible for developing software solutions that support the Data Platform, Analytics and Digital Transformation initiatives at Clearlink through a multi-disciplinary approach including elements of Software Development, applied Data Science and Big Data. 

Additionally, the Data Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining Big Data pipelines that provide enterprise access to company data and provides guidance to more junior team members. 

Adheres to Clearlink policies on ethics and integrity.

Under minimal supervision, develops software applications in varied and challenging technical domains and takes ownership over multiple assigned projects on a technical level; programming specializations include real-time streaming, Web-based user interfaces, data visualization, PCI security, cloud services, multi-media, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

Leverages Data Science tools and techniques to provide business insights from large, unstructured datasets.

Assembles and analyzes large, complex datasets that meet business requirements.

Builds the infrastructure required for extraction, transformation and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using relational, document, graph and data lake technologies.

Models problem domains in relational, document and graph technologies as required.

Creates data tools for analytics and data scientist team members.

Works with architects and software development and UX teams to develop processes and applications.

Creates, evaluates and deploys machine learning models to provide real-time predictions to improve business processes.

Creates programming modules and performs software development tasks (design, development, testing, maintenance) as part of a development team.

Creates websites, web-based dashboards and data visualizations that enhance the organization’s ability to understand data and make decisions.

Builds analytics tools that interface to a data pipeline to provide actionable insights into key business performance metrics.

Creates scripts, jobs, monitors and interfaces to facilitate deployment and productization of applications and solutions.

Implements internal process improvements, including automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery and re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability.

Creates functional and technical documentation including dashboard design specifications, operating manuals, release notes and security requirements for reports created and maintained.

Performs quality assurance testing of User Interfaces, Application interfaces, code and processes.

Analyzes, troubleshoots and solves development and production software.

REQUIREMENTS: Master’s in Computer Science, MIS, Information Systems, Engineering (any), or related field.

Three (3) years in any occupation with Information Systems, Software Development, or related experience.

Three (3) years in any occupation with Information Systems, Software Development, or related experience must include: Big Data, Machine Learning, AI, and Analytical technologies; Enterprise and web-based software development and experience creating and deploying enterprise applications; Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement; Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and datasets; Experience with Object Oriented/Programmatic ETL/Data Integration Workflow Management Services; Experience in web development technologies including one or more of the following: HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, or GraphQL; SQL; Experience in one or more web application platforms (e.g., Flask, ASP); Experience in application development in one or more of the following: Python, R, C#, java, JavaScript, Golang; Solving problems using Analytical and Data Science methods: modeling, clustering, Machine Learning, AI; Application and Data Security; Experience with cloud services: Data Lake, Enterprise Queues, Machine Learning, AI, DevOps; Streaming Technologies; and Experience with relational SQL, NoSQL and Graph databases such as Neo4j or Document DB.

ALTERNATE EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Systems, Engineering (any), or related field and  five (5) years in any occupation with Information Systems, Software Development, or related experience. Must have skills listed above.
