Solutions Architect 4 – SAP S/4HANA Data Migration Lead
Location: Remote with occasional travel to Los Alamos, New Mexico
Pay Rate: $100–$110/hr
Clearance: Ability to acquire Q clearance (US Citizenship Required)

Applicants must demonstrate:
- 15+ years leading enterprise SAP data migration workstreams, including at least four (4) full lifecycle SAP S/4HANA implementations delivered end-to-end, with greenfield implementations strongly preferred.
- Proven experience migrating non-SAP ERP platforms (Oracle EBS, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, or custom systems) into SAP S/4HANA, including deep understanding of Oracle environments.
- Experience serving as a senior client-side advisor or System Integrator data migration lead on large-scale enterprise ERP transformation programs.
Candidates who do not meet these minimum experience requirements will not be considered.
Impact
Join Los Alamos National Laboratory's Project Nexus initiative as the senior client-side authority responsible for one of the Laboratory's largest enterprise modernization efforts. This role provides strategic leadership for migrating Oracle EBS and other legacy ERP platforms to SAP S/4HANA Cloud, ensuring data integrity, regulatory compliance, and successful business transformation. You will partner directly with the System Integrator, influence key architectural decisions, mitigate migration risks, and help deliver a secure, scalable ERP platform supporting the Laboratory's long-term mission.
Responsibilities and Duties
Advisory & Technical Leadership
- Serve as the client-side senior authority for SAP data migration, acting as the technical peer to the System Integrator's Data Migration Lead.
- Review, challenge, and validate the System Integrator's migration strategy, ensuring unnecessary risks, costs, and operational burdens are avoided.
- Provide architectural guidance for greenfield SAP S/4HANA implementations migrating from Oracle EBS, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, custom applications, and other non-SAP systems.
- Advise leadership on migration architecture, source-to-target mappings, legacy-to-SAP concept translation, and migration tooling.
Data Migration Delivery
- Lead day-to-day execution of the client-side data migration workstream across multiple functional domains.
- Maintain migration plans, identify schedule risks, and drive timely issue resolution.
- Coordinate closely with System Integrator teams, business stakeholders, and technical resources.
- Facilitate working sessions with business data owners while tracking actions, deliverables, and decisions.
Data Quality & Governance
- Establish and monitor enterprise data cleansing standards.
- Validate migration quality criteria and ensure readiness for SAP S/4HANA production deployment.
- Identify and mitigate data quality risks, including transformation issues, missing legacy concepts, and cross-domain dependencies.
- Ensure compliance with organizational data governance policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
Migration Execution
- Coordinate mock conversion cycles across all functional domains.
- Independently review reconciliation results and validate migration accuracy.
- Maintain migration cutover plans, coordinate extraction and load schedules, and support go/no-go readiness activities.
- Provide hypercare support for post-production migration issues.
Program Leadership
- Support executive reporting, RAID management, and migration status updates.
- Provide independent risk assessments to program leadership.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across technical, business, and System Integrator organizations to ensure successful delivery.
Minimum Qualifications
- 15+ years leading enterprise SAP data migration initiatives.
- Successful delivery of at least four full lifecycle SAP S/4HANA implementations, preferably greenfield deployments.
- Experience serving both within a major System Integrator and later in a client-side advisory role.
- Extensive experience migrating enterprise data from Oracle EBS, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, custom systems, or other non-SAP ERP platforms into SAP.
- Deep expertise across SAP functional domains, including:
- Finance (FI/CO)
- Supply Chain (MM, SD, PP, WM)
- HR/HCM
- Plant Maintenance / Enterprise Asset Management
- Master Data (Business Partner, Material, Customer, Vendor)
- Expert understanding of SAP S/4HANA data models, Business Partner, Universal Journal, Material Ledger, and key architectural differences from legacy ERP systems.
- Strong expertise in:
- ETL architecture
- Data staging strategies
- Reconciliation
- Cutover planning
- Hypercare support
- Data migration governance
- Experience evaluating and utilizing multiple enterprise migration toolsets.
- Experience translating regulatory compliance requirements into effective migration controls.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage executives and technical teams alike.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree and 15 years of related experience, or 19 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.

- SAP certifications and Databricks certifications are preferred but not required.
