Vice President of Residential Security Sales

CPI Security, in Charlotte, NC, is seeking an experienced Vice President of Residential Sales.  CPI Security is a market leading provider of residential and commercial security, home automation, access control, video monitoring and fire systems and services.  CPI has been in business for over 30 years and serves over 225,000 customers across a large area of the Southeastern US. The company seeks an experienced leader who can expand and drive growth.

Position Summary:

The VP of Residential Field Sales leads our field sales channel and can quickly mobilize teams, develop and execute strategies to ensure CPI hits our sales and revenue goals. He or she has in-depth knowledge and understanding of our market and an awareness of competitive products and services. The VP manages the daily activities of the residential sales team to achieve revenue targets maximizing yield on marketing investments and grow builder relationships.   The VP sets the tone for a high-performing culture with strong communication and excellent customer service skills.

Essential Functions

  • Identify improvements opportunities and develop sales and resourcing plans and strategies to achieve sales goals including driving value from existing builder relationships
  • Recruit and hire effective outside sales team and leadership
  • Develop sales training programs to improve effectiveness of new hires and tenured reps
  • Manage sales teams and maintain sales operations
  • Outline and manage sales budgets
  • Set quarterly and annual sales goals
  • Motivate the sales teams to achieve their goals
  • Monitor the market and competitor products and activities and recommend actions
  • Provide detailed sales forecasting and identify opportunities to grow
  • Review customer activity, anticipate consumer needs and improve customer satisfaction
  • Develop compensation plans to drive desired business outcomes

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • In-depth knowledge of selling strategies and methods, as well as employee motivation techniques
  • Strong working knowledge of the residential security industry and products & services as well as the markets we serve
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Great strategic planning, organizational and creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • A sales focused mind that understands results come from high volume of contacts combined with forward-looking and practiced structure.
  • Attention to detail and ability to create strategic journeys for sales processes.
  • Ability to actively listen to what others have to say and restate information to ensure
  • A self-starter who is driven to exceed targets
  • Ability to maintain professional business standards at all times

Other Experience Required

  • Minimum 10+ years of professional experience in a outside sales focused position
  • Minimum 8+ years team management experience with a focus on coaching and development
  • Minimum 4+ years executive leadership experience leading an outside B2C sales channel
  • Experience and proficiency within Salesforce  
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel) required.
  • Availability to work flexible hours with the ability to travel throughout the Carolinas  
  • Must be able to pass required licensing as mandated by various state Alarm Boards
