Platform Operations SME
Copper River Cyber Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Platform Operations SME to join our team supporting a federal civilian client. This role will involve managing and optimizing both cloud-based platforms and on-premise infrastructure, ensuring the secure, reliable, and efficient operation of integrated platform environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with hybrid infrastructure management, encompassing both cloud services and on-premise systems, and will be instrumental in maintaining operational excellence across a range of technologies. This Platform Operations SME role will end in July 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operation and integration of both cloud-based platforms and on-premise systems, ensuring seamless interaction between both environments
- Lead the deployment, configuration, and automation of platform environments using infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible) for both cloud and on-premise systems
- Implement and maintain comprehensive monitoring systems for both cloud and on-premise environments to track health, performance, and capacity across all platforms
- Respond to incidents and outages in both cloud and on-premise systems, perform root cause analysis, and apply fixes to minimize downtime and service disruption
- Ensure that both cloud and on-premise platforms comply with federal security standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST, FISMA). Work with the security team to implement necessary security controls for both environments
- Continuously evaluate performance across cloud and on-premise systems, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize resource utilization
- Partner with development and engineering teams to ensure smooth integration of applications into both cloud and on-premise environments, and provide operational support throughout the software lifecycle
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for both cloud and on-premise platform configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Provide regular reports on platform health, incidents, and performance metrics
- Oversee and manage system upgrades, patches, and updates for both cloud and on-premise systems, ensuring that platforms are secure and performing optimally
- Conduct capacity planning for both cloud and on-premise infrastructure to ensure systems can scale as needed to support business demands
- Support and maintain disaster recovery plans for both cloud and on-premise systems, ensuring business continuity in the event of system failures or disasters
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cloud Computing, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in platform operations, systems administration, or related IT roles, with at least 3 years of experience managing hybrid environments
- AWS Cloud
- Microsoft Suite
- SharePoint
- Outsystems
Certifications:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional level certification, or similar cloud-related certifications, is required
- Additional certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, OutSystems certifications, CompTIA Cloud+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate are highly desirable
