The role of the Global Paralegal at Pleasant Law, PLLC is critical in maintaining case flow and supporting our mission to deliver justice for vulnerable clients. As the backbone of our case management, this position was created to alleviate the administrative burden on our attorneys, enabling them to focus on advocating for our clients. Your efforts will ensure that our practice operates smoothly and cases are handled with the utmost diligence and care, ultimately contributing to successful client outcomes. This is a high-impact role created to relieve significant operational pressure from the attorney and ensure cases move forward without delay.
What you’ll do:
- Case Management: Track each case from sign-up through litigation to resolution, ensuring deadlines and milestones are met.
- Calendar Management: Oversee discovery and filing deadlines, ensuring all dates are well-documented and tracked.
- Medical Records Management: Coordinate the ordering, tracking, and follow-up of medical records, ensuring all are received and in order.
- Document Management: Handle the organization and preparation of legal documents, ensuring everything is filed accurately.
- Client Communication: Serve as a point of contact for clients, providing updates and responding to inquiries with professionalism.
- Scheduling: Organize depositions, mediations, and court proceedings, ensuring all parties are informed and prepared.
- Litigation Support: Assist attorneys with discovery responses, document drafting, and evidence gathering.
- Accountability Driving: Actively hold the attorney accountable by following up on deadlines, pushing next steps, and ensuring no case stalls.
What we’re looking for:
- Personal Injury Experience: Proven experience in personal injury law, including both pre-litigation and litigation phases.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong task management skills with extreme attention to detail is critical, missed tasks or lack of follow-through will not be successful in this role.
- Proactive Approach: Ability to independently move cases forward without
waiting for instructions.
- Excellent Communication: Proficient in English, with the ability to clearly articulate with clients, courts, and legal teams.
- Remote Work Capability: Comfortable and experienced working in a remote setting, self-motivated and disciplined. Must have significant overlap with Eastern Time (EST) working hours.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using tools like Google Workspace and access to firm systems and platforms (candidate provides own equipment).
- Problem Solving: Strong ability to identify issues and devise strategic solutions to ensure seamless case progression.
