- Client Communication: Embrace written communication tools like email and case management software to keep clients informed, reducing unnecessary phone calls.
- Relationship Building: Maintain responsiveness and build trust with clients, requesting feedback and Google reviews from satisfied clients.
- Technology Utilization: Embrace and utilize technology such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and case management software for efficient document management and communication.
- Independent Problem Solving: Identify and implement next steps independently, maintaining momentum on cases and anticipating problems before they arise.
- Expanded Case Support: If the role develops into a full-time position, assist with additional case support responsibilities such as medical records requests, lien management, and related administrative support.
What we’re looking for:
- Workers' Compensation Expertise: Several years of dedicated experience in workers' compensation, with the ability to contribute immediately without extensive training.
- Independent Worker: Ability to own and manage the firm's workers' compensation department, proactively managing cases and following through consistently.
- Technological Proficiency: Comfort with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and other document management systems; willingness to learn new software quickly.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Demonstrated skills in written communication, prompt responsiveness, and documentation of conversations to keep clients informed.
- Organizational Skills: Strong ability to maintain accurate file documentation, organized case records, and clear communication history to ensure efficient case progress.
Why you should work here:
- Autonomy and Ownership: Opportunity to own and shape the firm's workers' compensation practice, with high levels of independence and decision-making power.
- Leadership Support: Work closely with dedicated leadership and engage in meaningful growth as the department evolves.
- Impactful Work: Provide significant contributions to client satisfaction and firm success through specialized legal practice.
- Collaborative Environment: Work within a close-knit team that values ideas, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Additional perks:
- Flexible Structure: The current workers’ compensation caseload is expected to support approximately 20–25 hours per week. The firm is open to considering either part-time or full-time arrangements depending on candidate fit, experience level, and whether additional responsibilities are added over time.
- Full-Time Benefits Eligibility: For full-time employees, benefits may become available after the 90-day introductory period, including healthcare eligibility, PTO, and sick leave.
- Potential Part-Time Perks: For part-time employees, medical benefits are not currently included, though paid holidays may be discussed depending on the final schedule and employment arrangement.
- Location: This role is primarily based in Wilmington, NC, with Goldsboro, NC considered as a secondary location depending on candidate fit and business needs.
- Career Growth: Opportunity to help strengthen, organize, and potentially grow the workers’ compensation department over time.
