Senior Systems Engineer
Location: On Customer Site – Springfield, VA
Clearance Required: TS/SCI (with ability to obtain CI Poly)

We're looking for a Senior Systems Engineer with a TS/SCI clearance to join our mission-driven team supporting an intelligence customer in Springfield, VA. What You'll Do:
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you'll play a vital role in supporting secure, efficient, and forward-thinking IT operations. You’ll be responsible for:

Installing, securing, monitoring, testing, configuring, migrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting OpenShift Clusters

Architecting OpenShift to align with application requirements, including compute, storage, networking, and operations
-
Performing OpenShift cluster upgrades and applying necessary security patches
-
Administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems
-
Managing and troubleshooting container orchestration and Kubernetes networking (DNS, load balancers, service IPs, node ports, etc.)

Developing system specifications that align with government architecture standards
-
Documenting system parameters and formats, ensuring hardware/software compatibility

Revising systems and procedures to improve data handling, I/O, conversion, and storage

Installing and maintaining storage, networking, and server hardware
-
Keeping development systems available through proactive monitoring and quick issue resolution
-
Applying DoD-mandated cybersecurity updates
-
Leading junior staff and/or overseeing the work of an entire technical team
What You’ll Bring:
-
5+ years of experience deploying OpenShift in an on-premise environment
-
Strong background with GitLab CI/CD and DevSecOps implementations on OpenShift
-
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with 10+ years of related work
-
5+ years of experience administering RHEL/Linux
-
Security+ certification or DoD 8570 Level II equivalent (required within 90 days of hire)
Preferred Experience:
-
NetApp storage management
-
Cisco switch and networking management
-
VMware ESXi virtual machine administration
-
RHEL certification
-
System administration across RHEL, Windows, and/or Storage platforms
-
Familiarity with ticketing systems like Service+
-
Ability to manage priorities and work effectively in high-pressure environments

- Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $175k-190k. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
