We are seeking an accomplished and highly motivated Risk Manager to lead risk management activities for a large-scale data center project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This client-facing role requires strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with a focus on identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating project risks throughout the full project lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction risk management, project controls, schedule and cost risk analysis, and risk reporting within complex construction, infrastructure, or mission-critical projects.
You will play a key role in supporting project leadership, technical teams, and client stakeholders by maintaining a proactive risk management framework, ensuring risks are properly captured, analyzed, escalated, and managed in alignment with project objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the implementation and management of the project risk management process, ensuring alignment with client requirements, internal standards, and industry best practices.
- Develop, maintain, and update the project risk register, ensuring all risks, opportunities, mitigation actions, owners, due dates, and statuses are accurately updated.
- Facilitate risk identification workshops and regular risk review meetings with project managers, discipline leads, contractors, consultants, and client representatives.
- Assess project risks related to scope, cost, schedule, procurement, design, construction, commissioning, quality, safety, and stakeholder interfaces.
- Perform qualitative and quantitative risk assessments to evaluate probability, impact, exposure, and priority of identified risks.
- Ensure integration of local context, requirements, and regulations into the project risk management framework and process.
- Support schedule and cost risk analysis activities, including risk modeling, scenario analysis, and development of mitigation strategies.
- Monitor key project risks and early warning indicators, escalating critical risks to project leadership and recommending corrective or preventive actions.
- Prepare and present regular risk reports, dashboards, trend analysis, and executive summaries for client and senior leadership review.
- Coordinate with planning, cost control, commercial, procurement, design, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure risk impacts are properly reflected in project controls reporting.
- Track mitigation actions and follow up with risk owners to ensure timely closure or reduction of risk exposure.
- Support change management, claims avoidance, delay analysis, and lessons learned activities by providing risk-related input and documentation.
- Review contractor risk submissions, risk registers, mitigation plans, and progress updates to ensure consistency with overall project requirements.
- Promote a proactive risk culture across the project team by improving risk awareness, accountability, and timely communication.
- Contribute to the development of risk management procedures, templates, reports, and governance processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in risk management, project controls, project management, or construction management within large-scale construction, infrastructure, or mission-critical projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Management, Quantity Surveying, Business, or a related technical field.
- Prior experience working on data centers, mission-critical, industrial, infrastructure, or large-scale building projects.
- Strong knowledge of project risk management principles, including risk identification, assessment, mitigation planning, monitoring, escalation, and reporting.
- Experience developing and maintaining project risk registers, mitigation trackers, risk dashboards, and executive-level risk reports.
- Strong understanding of the relationship between risk, cost, schedule, procurement, commercial management, and project delivery.
- Ability to facilitate risk workshops and engage effectively with multidisciplinary project teams, contractors, consultants, and client representatives.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project information and provide practical risk-based recommendations.
- Proficiency in risk management tools, including Monte Carlo simulation and integrated cost-schedule risk methodologies, using Primavera Risk Analysis, Safran Risk, @RISK, Acumen Risk, or similar.
- Experience supporting qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, including probability and impact assessments, risk scoring, and trend analysis.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly communicate risks, impacts, and mitigation strategies to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
- Experience working in a PMC, owner’s representative, or client-side project management environment.
- Professional certifications such as PMI-RMP, PMP, AACE, IRM, or equivalent risk/project management certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering Management, Project Management, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Experience working on hyperscale data centers or other large-scale, mission-critical facilities.
- Familiarity with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Power BI, Oracle Primavera Cloud, Procore, or other project controls platforms.
- Active membership in PMI, AACE, IRM, or similar professional associations.
