We are looking for an experienced Marketing Insights and Measurements Analyst who loves telling stories with data and turning insights into actions to help the marketing and communications teams deliver impact. The main purpose of the Marketing Data & Insights role is to be responsible for the gathering, organising and analysing data from all relevant internal and external data sources to enable the marcomms department to make data driven decisions resulting in improved performance and impact. They will report to the Marketing Analytics and User Insights Lead.

 

The Role

The role of the Insights function within the Marketing team is to ensure that Google DeepMind has the right insights to support strategy and planning. As Marketing Insights & Measurements Analyst reporting into the Insights Lead, you will analyse, build and implement a range of insight, research tools and activities to ensure that the team and wider organisation has the knowledge it needs to put our priority audiences at the heart of everything we do. The insights function within the team is expanding and is fast paced, as more stakeholders and teams see the value and utilise the insights and data.

The role is very hands-on,  and will require a can-do attitude and confidence to take on new challenges. It is a great opportunity for someone who would like to grow their responsibilities and have various research programmes/projects, and a broad scope of work. You will be working on a variety of small to large scale projects. This will include using a suite of media monitoring and social listening tools, tracking information, analytics tools, creating dashboards, reports, and other useful resources for the team, to support in guiding our marcomms strategy and helping the team deliver impact.

Key responsibilities:

  • Own the marcomms channel metrics, including website and social media stats and benchmarks, media mentions and headlines, and executive social media and media engagements. 
  • Update, maintain and develop team self-serve dashboards to support issue identification and decision making from marketing, owned channels, and comms performance data points 
  • Social media monitoring and analysis for product use cases and feedback, to support product positioning, analysis, use cases and demo designs. 
  • Lead on monthly team performance and channel reports and learnings, with actionable insights and tailored overviews and presentations with team members and stakeholders. 
  • Analyse website user behaviour, and user journeys through from the Google DeepMind site to various sites, platforms and tools - identifying trends and pain points which can then be improved to deliver a best customer experience across all digital touchpoints.
  • Support with delivering reports following Google DeepMind launches and competitor moments to help stakeholders understand external reactions, impact and sentiment, vs prev launches and competitor moments. 
  • Support with analysis of competitor moments, including key details and external reactions. 
  • Support with Internal Communications measurements, including channel and impact analysis, metrics and KPIs, and audience segmentation.
  • Maintain team Insight repository.
  • Recommend and Implement new performance measures and metrics for short-term and long-term communications efforts, and coordinate the reporting and analysis work across the marketing and communications organisation.
  • Lead on maintaining and updating our channel benchmarks (overall and per strategy area) to ensure the team can accurately compare campaigns and moments.
  • Partner and work with external and internal stakeholders to collaborate, share learnings and implement best measurement practices.

 

About You

To set you up for success as a Marketing Data and Insights Analyst at Google DeepMind,  we look for the following skills and experience:

In addition, the following would be an advantage: 

  • Proven experience working in a similar Marketing Data, Insight analytics type role
  • Experience using AI tools to support with work efficiencies and optimisation
  • Strategic, analytical, and have strong communication skills, as well as being able to relay technical information/data/results
  • Extensive experience working with Google Analytics, Brandwatch (social listening), Google Search Console, YouTube Analytics, Looker Studio for reporting / dashboarding etc
  • Experience working with PR/Comms Reporting tools such as NewsWhip
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills are crucial
  • Able to combine and interpret high volumes of data from multiple sources
  • Able to synthesise information from a variety of sources, add insightful commentary and translate data / trends into practical recommendations and stories to improve performance
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills are crucial, prior experience in marketing is useful
  • Excellent spoken, written and visual communications skills, including the ability to visualise data in simple, concise, clear and impactful ways
  • Strong project management skills and experience in creating insight dashboards (if not the experience, the potential to learn quickly)
  • Commitment to learning about new insight tools
  • Confidence to work and collaborate with a range of stakeholders
  • Hands-on social listening experience, audience analysis or data/statistical analysis, preferably with exposure to audience insights and social media research
  • You work well both independently and as a part of team
  • Strong ability to manage yourself and time, working effectively across multiple priorities
