Head of SEO
This role is part of our Creative & Media team based in Rotterdam and Amsterdam. Our team is a vibrant mix of talents, ranging from Creatives, Influencer Marketers, Brand & Content Strategists to Account Managers, Programmatic and Marketing Automation Consultants. Together, we blend imaginative storytelling and performance-driven strategies with cutting-edge technology to create engaging digital experiences that build lasting relationships with our clients like Netflix, Canva, Foot Locker, Philips & Biscoff.
JOB PURPOSE
Are you a visionary SEO leader with a proven track record of driving tangible revenue and market share growth? Do you thrive on the thrill of the pitch and the satisfaction of expanding client portfolios? We're seeking a dynamic Head of SEO to ignite our presence in the Netherlands and Denmark, transforming our SEO discipline into a powerhouse of sales and client success.
This isn't just about rankings; it's about impacting the bottom line. You'll be instrumental in shaping our commercial strategy, identifying new market opportunities, and ensuring our SEO offerings consistently lead to exceptional business outcomes for our clients and the agency.
You will lead the teams and give support by removing blockers and ensuring they have access to the right tools and knowledge. Your goal is to empower every consultant/lead, giving them the confidence to deliver high-quality projects and tasks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take a strategic lead in the overall performance, profitability, and long-term business growth of our SEO discipline across the Netherlands and Denmark.
- Play a key role in new business efforts by actively engaging in pitches, refining our sales narratives, and collaborating closely with the New Business team to secure and expand our client base. You'll also be instrumental in upselling innovative SEO solutions to existing clients.
- Establish the right organisational set-up for the SEO teams to ensure quality and performance.
- Coach and mentor our SEO Leads, empowering every consultant to deliver high-impact, commercially driven SEO projects.
- Foster an innovative mindset within the SEO team, positioning us as first movers in adopting new technology and advertising solutions, and gaining industry recognition through awards.
- Work closely with the New Business team to bring in new clients and upsell solutions to existing ones.
- Oversee top SEO clients, driving innovation, project growth, and excellence in delivery.
- Dedicate at least 60% of your time to projects or sales initiatives.
- Enable and boost cross-craft collaboration, aligning our SEO activities more closely with adjacent disciplines such as Content, Data, AI, and Paid Search.
- Ensure agile development of our SEO proposition, aligning product-market fit and traction with the right target clients.
- Encourage knowledge sharing and best practices across teams.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- 10+ years of experience in SEO, with proven success in leading large-scale, high-impact SEO initiatives.
- A strong commercial mindset, with a passion for business development, sales pitches, upselling, and client growth.
- Proven leadership experience, with a track record of building, coaching, and inspiring high-performing teams.
- A broad understanding of digital marketing, including SEA, Social, Display, Content Marketing, and Data.
- A strategic thinker who is also hands-on, analytical, and execution-oriented.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to persuade, influence, and inspire.
- Ambitious, results-driven, and comfortable working in fast-paced, international environments.
- Fluency in English is required; Dutch fluency is preferred.
