Executive Directors at DEPT® are senior business leaders who own our most important and complex client partnerships at an enterprise level. You’re not just managing an account — you’re shaping a multi-year vision, influencing C-suite strategy, and orchestrating large-scale, integrated work across multiple disciplines and geographies.

You’re an expert in anticipating client needs, identifying opportunities to grow the business, and leading cross-functional teams toward measurable impact. You balance creative ambition with commercial rigor, and you have the gravitas to influence at the highest levels — both internally and with client executives.

You know how to navigate complex organizational structures, unite stakeholders around a shared vision, and turn that vision into sustained business growth. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

CLIENT LEADERSHIP & STRATEGY

  • Serve as the senior-most relationship holder for a flagship portfolio, building trusted partnerships with C-level client stakeholders.

  • Develop and drive a multi-year account vision, identifying new opportunities to expand DEPT®’s footprint and deliver transformative business outcomes.

  • Anticipate client needs and proactively present strategic ideas, emerging capabilities, and innovative solutions that position DEPT® as an indispensable partner.

  • Lead annual strategic planning with clients, aligning marketing, media, product, and creative strategies with business objectives.

COMMERCIAL LEADERSHIP & BUSINESS GROWTH

  • Own portfolio-level P&L, ensuring revenue, margin, and profitability goals are met or exceeded.

  • Oversee contract negotiations, enterprise-level SOWs, and large-scale renewals in collaboration with DEPT®’s leadership.

  • Drive cross-sell and upsell opportunities across DEPT®’s global service offerings, including creative, media, data, product, and emerging tech.

  • Ensure account teams operate efficiently, delivering maximum client value while meeting financial targets.

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE & DELIVERY

  • Oversee multiple high-volume, multi-service retainers and complex campaigns with a global or multi-market scope.

  • Serve as the ultimate escalation point, resolving issues with speed, diplomacy, and a solutions-first mindset.

  • Ensure work is delivered at the highest quality standards and aligned to strategic goals.

  • Partner with discipline leads (creative, media, engineering, product, data, production) to optimize delivery and ways of working.

TEAM LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT

  • Lead, coach, and inspire senior client leads, account directors, and cross-functional delivery teams.

  • Upskill and elevate existing team capabilities, ensuring talent grows in step with the evolving needs of the client and the industry.

  • Build succession plans and develop future leaders within the account.

  • Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and collaboration that elevates both the client relationship and team performance.

  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within your teams and across the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS — ESSENTIAL

  • 15+ years of experience in senior client leadership roles in creative, digital, media, or technology-driven agencies or consultancies.

  • Proven track record of growing enterprise-level accounts ($10M+ portfolios) and delivering measurable business impact.

  • Deep expertise in integrated marketing, creative, media, and digital product development.

  • Executive presence with the ability to influence C-suite decision-making on both client and agency sides.

  • Experience leading large, multidisciplinary, and geographically dispersed teams.

  • Strong commercial acumen with ownership of portfolio P&L.

  • Adept at managing high-pressure, fast-paced environments while keeping teams focused and inspired.

  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.

Salary Range: $197,600 – $296,400 (based on experience, expertise, and organizational impact; 40-hour workweek; leveling flexibility)

This is remote role, however you must be located within 50 miles of New York, NY (tri-state area is ok) to be considered.
