Social Media and Influencer Manager

This role is part of our eBay Inhouse team, where you will be employed by DEPT® but embedded within eBay.

JOB PURPOSE

What happens in culture is usually reflected by what people are buying and selling on eBay. As a cultural barometer we have a huge opportunity to use social to connect with different communities in relevant and meaningful ways. It is your responsibility to help realise the cultural potential of eBay on social.

Your objective will be to help the social team make our brand famous by driving salience and relevance. In doing so, we can continuously make eBay a brand people want to talk about. 

We are looking for a social and influencer champion to work in the eBay UK social team delivering social first campaigns. The ideal candidate should be customer obsessed, an excellent creative thinker, and someone who is tapped into social and influencer trends.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Campaign Management and Influencer Collaboration: Develop and execute editorial social media campaigns in conjunction with our brand managers, including collaborations with influencer agencies.
  • Ongoing Content Strategy: Maintain active and engaging social media channels through the consistent delivery of relevant content. 
  • Influencer content planning: Work in collaboration with our influencer agency to build awareness and consideration of our brand for buying and selling. 
  • Data Analysis: Conduct comprehensive analysis of online discourse to identify customer and cultural trends to inform content strategy.
  • Paid Social Media Support: Assist in the development and execution of paid social media strategies alongside our brand managers. 
  • Agency Management: Oversee and help to manage our social media agency to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Events: Collaborate with internal and external teams and agencies for social support around live events, including occasional in person attendance capturing and posting live. 
  • Social Listening and Performance Reporting: Collaboration with our agency partners to manage social listening strategies and generate performance reports to ensure campaigns are delivering on their objectives. 
  • GCX: Monitor and work with GCX and our listening agency to flag any urgent user concerns.
  • Trend Awareness and Implementation: Stay abreast of current social media trends and implement innovative strategies.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Influencer management: Experience of working with influencers in-directly through agency partners. Understanding of how to brief to get the best out of creators and different tools to measure campaign success. 
  • Broad expertise: Ideally experience of working with fashion brands, automotive or collectibles and an understanding of the customer and the role influencers can play within marketing strategies. 
  • Creativity: Ability to generate innovative and engaging social media content ideas.
  • Social Media Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of various social media channels and competitive landscapes. 
  • Tools: Having executed in Meta platforms in the retail industry.
  • Campaign and Budget Management: Understanding of large-scale social media campaign execution and budget management experience.
  • Passion for Social Media: Demonstrated enthusiasm for social, culture and emerging trends.
  • Project Management: Detail orientated and driven self-starter, with experience of juggling various priorities and projects. 
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities and ability to utilize data for decision-making.
  • Customer Focus: Customer obsessed and passionate about inspiring and engaging different communities. 
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
