About the team
Dialpad’s data team acts as a centralized hub, supporting the analytics and business intelligence needs of global departments such as Finance, Product, Customer Support, Legal, Marketing, and Sales. The team is responsible for data ingestion, ensuring data quality, managing data engineering, and delivering business analytics services, including report automation, as well as descriptive and predictive analytics. Dialpad’s data team operates from five global hubs located in the US, Canada, Argentina, India, and Philippines.
Your role
We are looking for an experienced Tableau Developer and Administrator with strong SQL and data visualization expertise to join our team. In this role, you will not only design and develop Tableau dashboards but also be responsible for administering our Tableau environment, implementing governance policies, and ensuring best practices for organizing and managing Tableau assets. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that data is accurately visualized and securely managed, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role is based in our Buenos Aires, Arg office.The candidate must be available to work during US overlapping hours (9 AM to 1 PM PST) and be willing to travel occasionally if needed.
What you’ll do
- Develop and maintain Tableau dashboards and reports that provide meaningful insights and support data-driven decision-making.
- Administer and manage the Tableau environment, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
- Implement and maintain governance policies for Tableau usage, ensuring consistency in dashboard design, data access, and organizational practices.
- Create and enforce best practices for Tableau dashboard organization, folder structures, naming conventions, and permissions management.
- Monitor Tableau server performance and usage, optimizing resource allocation and improving user experience.
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for dashboards and reports.
- Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from Big Query and other sources into Tableau for visualization.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and efficiency in reporting by performing data validation and troubleshooting.
- Optimize Tableau performance, including the creation of efficient data models, calculations, and visualizations.
- Provide training and support to end-users on Tableau best practices and dashboard usage.
- Collaborate with data analysts, data engineers, and business teams to ensure cohesive and comprehensive reporting solutions.
- Stay up to date with Tableau and SQL best practices, and incorporate new features and techniques to enhance reporting capabilities.
Must have skills & experiences
- 5+ years of analytics or BI experience with 2+ years specifically as a Tableau Developer.
- Strong proficiency in Tableau for building complex dashboards and reports.
- Excellent English communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Advanced SQL skills for querying databases, with experience in optimizing SQL queries for performance.
- Experience working with large datasets and integrating data from multiple sources.
- Knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and database management concepts.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Preferred education and experiences
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Experience working in a Saas based technology company.
- Hands-on experience with Agile Software Development methodologies and tools like Jira.
- Working experience in cloud-based data platforms like GCP, AWS or Azure.
- Experience with Python, R, or other programming languages is a plus.
