Your role

As our RVP, Japan Sales, you’ll own the strategy and execution of all revenue segments for Japan. You’ll lead a team of Account Executives with the goal of accelerating the adoption of the Dialpad platform for all business users across all segments. You’ll also help motivate, coach, and guide the team, monitor team member performance, develop account plans, and work cross-functionally to win in large accounts.

Provide weekly forecast updates, conduct sales presentations, and work closely with partners in the region such as SoftBank, Google, Salesforce, and others.

This position reports to our AVP, APJ and is expected to be based in our Tokyo, Japan office.

You will contribute to our global sales team by acquiring new customers, uncovering market opportunities, and getting the market talking about Dialpad! The global sales team is made up of Sales Development, Channel, Enablement, Commercial, Mid-Market, and Enterprise—all teeming with unbridled passion and grit. Our representatives help businesses solve complex communications problems faced by many around the world.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy, focusing on achieving revenue targets and market penetration.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive sales growth, including direct sales and channel partnerships.
  • Build and manage a high-performing sales team, providing coaching, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Actively assist and coach Account Executives in all phases of the selling process to achieve targets and performance metrics.
  • Serve as leadership sponsor to large accounts and help drive key executive relationships.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Leverage Partnerships (Reseller, ISV, Alliances) to advance market penetration.
  • Oversee leads and pipeline management.
  • Analyze data and work with cross-functional counterparts to improve the product's vision and drive growth initiatives and market insights.
  • Increase the effectiveness of tools and communication channels by recognizing opportunities for innovation and proactively implementing new systems and processes.
  • Optimize resources and budget and partner with internal teams to execute sales strategy as we introduce enhancements to existing solutions and/or release new products.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success of regional initiatives. Regularly report on regional performance to the EVP.
  • Foster a high-performance culture that emphasizes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide accurate forecasting knowledge and pipeline guidance.

Skills you’ll bring

  • We are looking for individuals who are goal-oriented and thrive in a fast-paced, technology-driven sales environment.
  • You are a natural people person with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence your audience through presentations, training, and product demonstrations. The ideal candidate will possess the personal drive to deliver what needs to get done and have a proven track record of overachieving sales quotas and pipeline goals.
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5-8+ years of sales experience, preferably in the B2B SaaS space.
  • 6+ years of sales leadership experience, preferably in the technology sector.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Needs to possess strong emotional intelligence and the ability to inspire and develop direct reports.
  • Brings a strong work ethic; takes the initiative and thinks creatively to get the job done.
  • Ability to speak Japanese and English fluently.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Extensive experience in building, leading, and managing high-performing sales teams.
  • Experience working in the Channel/Partnership ecosystem specific to Japan.
