New

Software Engineer in Test II

Bengaluru, Karnataka, India

Role Overview

You’ll be a key part of the team building the next generation of a global SaaS compliance platform, making sure new features are fast, reliable, and ready for real-world use. You’ll own test automation end-to-end for web applications, working closely with developers and product teams to ship high-quality releases with confidence.

Alongside modern test automation, you’ll also help shape how AI shows up in the product and in testing. You’ll work with tools like Playwright and Cypress, test REST APIs and backend services, and use AI to speed up test design, debugging, and documentation—while keeping quality, security, and ethics front and center.

Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll do (not all of it, just the important stuff)

  • Design, build, and maintain automated tests for web applications using Playwright, Cypress, and related tooling.

  • Create and manage test scenarios, test cases, and test data for new and existing product features across the UI, API, and backend.

  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, helping to improve reliability, coverage, and speed of releases.

  • Use AI tools to accelerate test case generation, analysis, and debugging, validating outputs for accuracy, safety, and cost.

  • Partner with engineers and product managers to define test strategies, estimate test effort, and report meaningful quality metrics.

  • Contribute to code and test reviews, helping to maintain a stable, well-tested codebase and driving continuous improvement in QA practices.

These are the essentials you’ll need to get an interview

  • 3–5 years of experience in automated testing for web applications.

  • Strong hands-on experience with modern test automation frameworks such as Playwright and/or Cypress.

  • Solid understanding of QA fundamentals, testing best practices, and testing types (functional, regression, exploratory, cross‑browser).

  • Experience testing APIs and backend services, including designing and executing test cases for REST or similar interfaces.

  • Practical experience with test management and issue-tracking tools (for example JIRA, Zephyr or similar).

  • Demonstrated use of AI tools to enhance productivity in testing or development, and awareness of concepts like tokens, context length, and hallucinations.

  • Clear, collaborative communication skills and the ability to own tasks end-to-end while working effectively with cross‑functional teams.

It would be great if you had these too, but we’ll support you if you don’t

  • Experience integrating automated tests deeply into CI/CD workflows and optimizing them for speed, stability, and maintainability.

  • Exposure to AI-enabled product features, including testing AI integrations and understanding privacy, security, and ethical considerations.

  • A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in software engineering and test automation.
