About the position:

We are looking for a strong leader to join our team as part of the Finance & Strategy Organization. As the first member of a high-visibility organization, this role will help to build and lead much of Ditto’s Controllership Function.

This is an incredibly unique opportunity to come into a high growth business and build much of the financial infrastructure from the ground up.

As a Director of Accounting you will:

• Oversee and manage all aspects of the company's accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting
• Ensure accurate and timely production of financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
• Perform month-end, accounting close functions including preparing journal entries, analyses, and reconciliations
• Responsible for the preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP as well as providing written analyses of variances against prior periods and budgets
• Drive and implement GAAP and accounting standards, including ASC 606 to ensure accurate recognition of revenues and expenses
• Establish and maintain a comprehensive set of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data
• Act as a trusted advisor on strategic company initiatives and commercial activity, advising on accounting standards and related trade-offs and risks
• Coordinate and manage the annual external audit process and liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance and timely completion
• Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and tax regulations to ensure ongoing compliance
• Partner with and manage external vendors currently managing controllership activities
• Build a best-in-class Controllership Organization, fostering a culture of trust, communication and continuous improvement
• Employ a technology-first approach, assessing and leveraging technology and artificial intelligence to improve task velocity and accuracy
• Select and implement Ditto’s next ERP systems

What you’ll need: 

• CPA designation is strongly preferred
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience as an Accounting Manager or Director
• Prior experience with a Big 4 accounting firm, specifically in the audit practice, is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP and other accounting principles and regulations
• Technical expertise in revenue recognition, ASC 606 and stock-based compensation a plus
• Experience in SaaS, AI, or enterprise software industries is preferred
• Proficiency and experience with NetSuite; Netsuite implementation experience is a plus
• Communication: Clear, concise communicator; ability to synthesize complex data or business problems into actionable information to drive results
• Versatility: Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, zooming in with good attention to detail while still keeping the big picture in mind
• Project Management: Results-oriented, self-starter, organized, team-focused, and a strong work ethic, leveraging relationships to ensure deadlines are met
