
AM Process Specialist

Purpose
Divergent seeks a driven and adept Process specialist focused on designing, implementing, and optimizing industrial processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety in our manufacturing facility. They will work closely with our production & service teams to development and enhance processes related to Additive Manufacturing (AM) and auxiliary equipment. We aim to set a new standard in aerospace and automotive manufacturing, and we need a proactive team member to help redefine the future of manufacturing and automation.
The Role
- Process Design and Implementation: Develop, Design and implement production processes that improve efficiency and reduce costs while ensuring product quality and safety.
- Audits and Inspections: Conduct scheduled audits on machine performance and support the implementation of robust programs for continuous improvement, including space inspections, audits, and surveillances.
- Quality Control: Help establish and maintain quality control procedures to ensure that Equipment, Processes & Products meet required standards and specifications.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, AM service, machine shop to ensure smooth operations and to resolve process issues.
- Continuous Improvement: Help lead process improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean and 5s to enhance productivity and sustainability.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure that training is established for the processes & equipment.
- Additional Responsibilities: Undertake additional tasks as needed to meet departmental objectives.
Basic Qualifications
- Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls
- High school diploma and attending secondary education to further their knowledge of manufacturing processes. Or a bachelor's degree in an engineering field.
- Has been involved with Process improvement, has experience with Additive Manufacturing, heat treat, media blast and support removal equipment. or a similar role, typically 3-5 years.
- Experience with metal (or other) Additive Manufacturing (AM) processes and equipment such as SLM Solutions, EOS, Arcam EBM, Additive Industries, Velo3D and Solukon depowdering system is a plus but not mandatory.
- Autonomous and logical troubleshooting capabilities under pressure.
- Strong self-motivation, prioritization, and execution skills in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Proficient use of a wide variety of hand tools and test equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Electrical & Pneumatic systems, software and CAD software.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Work Environment
- Frequent work in a factory environment for equipment access, diagnostics, and repair (up to 100%+).
- Ability to walk, kneel, reach, climb, and use hands to operate machinery.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to where safety equipment such as the PAPR system for long periods of time.
Compensation
- Specialist / S04: $46.00 - $63.00
Pay Range
$46 - $63 USD
