Overview
The Senior Material Coordinator will serve as the primary logistics lead for managing, tracking, and expediting material in support of Navy Command, Control, Communications, Computers & Intelligence (C4I) projects and facility operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the timely flow of parts, assemblies, and equipment between facilities, aligning with production schedules and engineering priorities. This position requires hands-on expertise with operational inventory management systems to monitor stock levels, automate logistics reporting, and provide real-time visibility into material readiness. Working closely with Facility Managers, Engineers, and installation teams, the Senior Material Coordinator ensures material availability to support shipboard installations, repairs, and technical assists, while upholding Navy standards of accountability and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and expedite flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between various buildings in accordance with Facility Manager or Facility Staff Engineer(s) priorities
- Review production schedules and conferring with Facilities Staff to determine material requirements.
- Arrange transfer of materials to meet production schedules
- Examine received and stowed material to verify suitability for current project.
- Compute the amount of material needed for specific job orders.
- Compile reports of quantity and type of material on hand
- Coordinate with Facility Staff for the repair and assembly/installation of facilities unique material.
Qualifications
- Clearance: Active Secret or higher
- Education: High School Diploma, General Equivalency Degree (GED) or higher
- Experience: Five (5) years of experience: Coordinating and expediting flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between various buildings in accordance with Facility Manager or Facility Staff Engineer(s) priorities. Experience coordinating Navy C4I program material in support of shipboard installations and technical assists preferred.
- Demonstrated experience utilizing operational inventory management software tools to verify existing inventory levels and generate accurate reports.
- Demonstrated experience automating logistics reporting within operational inventory management software tools to ensure efficient and real-time inventory monitoring.
