About the Role:
Dr. Squatch is looking for a Creative Producer to help our growing marketing team expand our creative portfolio on Facebook, TikTok, Snap, and YouTube. We’re looking for experts in digital creative and performance marketing (direct-response) who know how to make digital content from ideation through execution. An ideal candidate is somebody who is versed in creative (watches ads, follows trends, idea hunter), has a background in full stack video production (producing, directing, editing), and can adapt to company goals.
This role will report to the Director of Performance Marketing.
This is a full-time, hybrid role with company benefits based in Marina del Rey, CA.
The anticipated base compensation range for this role will be $85,000 to $95,000. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local market rates.
What You'll Do:
- You will be the footage generation machine for the team.
- Writing, shooting, and producing video ads for our various products.
- Leveraging the in-house team or hiring freelancers to support productions
- Directing talent on-set and sourcing locations for shoots on a weekly basis
- Digital focus on new video ads (Facebook, TikTok, Snap, YouTube)
- Executing from script to completed video (post-production)
- Obtaining UGC footage effective for social media
- Executing on stylized product videos with a more brand/DR hybrid focus
- Sourcing competitor ad examples and finding ways to adapt internet trends
- Identifying which visuals are effective and improving over time.
About You:
- An excellent writer – wordsmith like a pro, understands subtlety in phrasing, strong hooks.
- Urgency – hits deadlines and takes action even if the result may not be pixel-perfect
- Good creative intuition – they get it, know the underlying objectives, how to interpret briefs.
- Endless inspiration – bursting with ideas, and can source ideas from social media, TV, etc.
- Resource conscious – squeeze the most out of minimal budgets, understands that quality of content comes from time management/ideas/execution and not from the fanciest rig
- 2+ years of video advertising experience, preferably at an agency or brand
- Understanding of direct response advertising (product-driven, value propositions)
- Strong pre-production skills, including scripting, casting, and budgeting
- Access to iPhone for filming purposes
- Ability to edit / Adobe Premiere
- Proficiency with Google Suite (Docs, Slides)
- Attention to detail and an eye for catching mistakes
- Can juggle multiple projects simultaneously and hit deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Interest in health and wellness, personal care and eCommerce
- High standards, takes ownership, and is invested in the outcome
- Proactively helps others, stays positive, and has a good sense of humor
- Understand the “user experience” of both watching an ad and buying a product
- A thoughtful mindset. Can explain decisions and avoids choices that feel random or wasteful.
