Lead ML Ops Engineer

Introduction

We are seeking a  Lead MLOps Engineer to lead the design and implementation of scalable MLOps pipelines and infrastructure. At Duetto, you’ll take on the unique challenge of building a cost efficient platform that trains, deploys, and monitors thousands of ML models,  one for each hotel customer. As we modernize our data and ML infrastructure to drive the company’s next phase of growth,  you will play a key role in optimizing the model lifecycle and ensuring deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of models in production. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to automate and streamline data ingestion, model development, deployment, and monitoring, making a direct impact on our advanced analytics capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute the MLOps roadmap for large-scale model training and deployment across thousands of hotels.
  • Drive strategic initiatives for ML systems , training and deployment infrastructure.
  • Build and maintain MLOps pipelines using Databricks for data and feature engineering, leveraging the Sagemaker for model deployment and serving.
  • Orchestrate ML training pipelines, batch and online inference processes, and endpoint deployments for thousands of models.
  • Develop automated testing frameworks and ensure CI/CD for ML models.
  • Manage infrastructure to optimize performance and cost.
  • Configure monitoring systems to track model performance and data drift.
  • Apply strategies for model retraining, versioning, and rollback
  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and DevOps teams to integrate models.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as an MLOps Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong background in [Dev]Ops and ML engineering.
  • Experience operating within policies and processes that make up a multi-layered enterprise security posture.  Relevant SOC2 experience a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related fields.
  • Strong experience with AWS (SageMaker, Lambda, EMR, ECR) for ML model deployment and serving.
  • Experience working with the Databricks platform, particularly in managing and optimizing data workflows and model operations, and using  MLflow for model tracking, versioning and deployment. 
  • Conversant in container technology.  Experience with containers and container orchestration tools such as ECS/EKS a plus.
  • Advanced Python skills, with knowledge of ML / DL frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch.
  • Experience managing infrastructure and contributing as part of a multi-user infrastructure team, using Terraform and associated toolsets.  Relevant SOC2 experience is also a plus.
  • Proficient in CI/CD tools (e.g. Github Actions) for automated pipelines or deployments.
  • Experience with feature stores (e.g.,Databricks,  Feast  or AWS SageMaker Feature Store) and their role in ML workflows.
  • Experience provisioning, configuring, administering, and using enterprise monitoring ecosystems like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative experience with data teams.
  • Adaptable in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, balancing speed, rigor, and attention to detail.
