Job Description:
The Senior Director, Corporate Revenue will lead revenue recognition and order-to-cash processes, partnering with the Accounting, Billing and FP&A teams to ensure accurate and timely billing, revenue recognition and collections. This position has overall responsibility to the Corporate Controller.
We are looking for an experienced software revenue accounting leader who is highly motivated to solve complex problems and deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external partners. The successful candidate will be a team player, collaborating with finance, sales leaders, and service delivery within the organization to support the company's overall strategic objectives and growth plans.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform diligence on current customer contracts and align revenue recognition methodologies in accordance with US GAAP.
- Document processes and establish key controls within the quote-to-cash cycle to ensure compliance and risk management.
- Collaborate with Sales and Professional Services, Customer Success, and Platform and IT teams to enhance and improve quote-to-cash processes and ensure GAAP and SOX compliance.
- Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the quote-to-cash, accounts receivable, billing and collections teams.
- Monthly customer invoicing and revenue close processes and oversight across global order-to-cash processes.
- Management discussion and analysis of accounts receivable and revenue operating results and analytics included in monthly operating reviews.
- Assist in revenue budget and forecast preparation.
- Assist in US and statutory external audit efforts of revenue inquiries and provide required audit documentation and financial statement revenue disclosures and accounting policies.
- Partner with product and accounting teams to ensure new product introductions are properly integrated into the revenue platform, contract management system, and revenue recognition tools.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall goals and objectives of the department/company.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or related field required.
- 7+ years of experience in accounting management experience, with at least 4 in software/service or SaaS sectors.
- CPA active license a plus.
- Expert knowledge of US GAAP and ASC606.
- Strong proficiency in NetSuite and Salesforce operations and interfaces.
- Experience in a global organization operating in multiple jurisdictions and functional currencies.
- Familiarity with multi-country operations
- Experience with multi-element revenue recognition processes, including subscription, percentage complete, time and materials, and fixed fee.
- Acquisition integration/purchase accounting experience is highly desirable.
- Proven track record in leading accounting teams for high-growth software companies in a venture-backed or private-equity setting
- Ability to drive change, including influencing a group of stakeholders across various levels within the team and across the company.
- Ability to work in a fast-moving environment with ethical standards and integrity and adapt to changing responsibilities and priorities.
- Excellent leadership, business partnering, problem-solving, people management, data navigation, data analytics, and written/verbal communication skills.
