JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Data Operations Engineer III to join our data-driven healthcare organization. This role is pivotal in ensuring the availability, integrity, and accessibility of enterprise data across the organization. You will work at the intersection of data engineering, operations, and governance to enhance the observability of critical data pipelines and assets, automate recurring workflows, and support data quality initiatives.

Responsibilities:
As a senior member of the DataOps team, you will be responsible for:
- Improving data observability by developing monitoring tools and alerts for key data pipelines and assets.
- Automating recurring data tasks to increase efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Responding to ad hoc data requests from cross-functional teams with speed and accuracy.
- Enhancing data quality and curation by identifying issues, implementing solutions, and collaborating with data stewards.
- Maintaining and improving runbooks to ensure operational continuity and knowledge sharing.
- Leading the onboarding and acquisition of new data assets, ensuring seamless integration into the enterprise data ecosystem.
Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in SQL with the ability to write complex queries.
- 3+ years of experience performing ETL and data engineering tasks.
- 3+ years of experience with Big Data technologies such as Databricks, Python, and Data Lakes.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in:
- SQL
- Azure Data Services (including Azure Data Factory)
- Databricks
- Python
- Strong understanding of DevOps/Data DevOps concepts.
- Experience with data observability tools and practices.
- Familiarity with data quality frameworks and automation tools.

- Demonstrated ability to:
- Improve data observability and integrity.
- Automate recurring data tasks and workflows.
- Address ad hoc data requests efficiently.
- Audit and enhance data quality across enterprise systems.
- Create and maintain detailed runbooks and documentation.
