Here is how the Compliance Specialist role will impact our business:
As a key member of EQT's Compliance Operations & Risk team, the Compliance Specialist will provide direct execution support across sanctions monitoring, LNG & LPG counterparty compliance, control testing, and program metrics. This role is responsible for maintaining scalable, consistent throughput on high-volume, recurring compliance obligations, including conducting counterparty risk reviews, executing sanctions screenings, performing control effectiveness testing, and delivering metrics and reporting that support EQT's growing LNG & LPG strategy and maturing Compliance Control Testing program.
The Compliance Specialist, Operations & Risk responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Execute Know Your Customer (KYC) reviews, including Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), for LNG & LPG counterparties and materially important suppliers.
- Run sanctions pre-screens against restricted-party lists ahead of new counterparty relationships, and maintain the ongoing monitoring queue to flag and escalate potential matches.
- Execute routine control tests across regulatory, ethics, and sanctions programs under defined methodologies, coordinating with other compliance program managers to ensure effective testing.
- Gather and organize supporting documentation for testing and audits, and track deficiencies and remediation actions to resolution.
- Administer intake, logging, and triage of compliance cases, maintaining case management systems for completeness, accuracy, and audit readiness.
- Maintain compliance dashboards, trackers, and health/instrumentation metrics, and research emerging risk inputs and trends to support risk posture and repeat-issue analysis.
- Prepare agendas, materials, and minutes for Compliance Councils, committee meetings, and select Board-level updates.
- Support cross-functional coordination with Legal, Enterprise Risk Management, Internal Audit, and business operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, standardization, and scalability of recurring compliance obligations, and support implementation of compliance tools and process documentation.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
- 0–3 years of experience in compliance, risk, audit, legal, or related field.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working in data, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
- Clear written and verbal communication, including preparing materials for leadership and governance forums.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Familiarity with compliance concepts such as sanctions screening, KYC/EDD, and control testing.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with comfort managing multiple concurrent cases and deadlines.
- Ability to follow structured, defined processes while identifying opportunities for improvement.
- High integrity and sound judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information.
Remote work is being considered for this role excluding the following states: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Tennessee unless willing to relocate.
