About the role

Ethos is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Compliance Analyst to support our growing Compliance team across a dynamic range of functions. In this role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding the business by managing compliance monitoring and testing, overseeing licensing, addressing data privacy matters, and driving internal training initiatives.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in insurance regulatory concepts and principles, combined with the ability to navigate complex assignments autonomously. We are looking for a flexible, rapid learner who is eager to take ownership and help design, refine, and execute our end-to-end compliance processes as Ethos continues to scale.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct compliance monitoring and testing, which includes evaluating internal controls, identifying potential vulnerabilities, and ensuring strict adherence to required obligations.
  • Update and maintain complete & accurate policies, procedures, compliance logs, or files.
  • Assist with data privacy tasks, including data subject requests and unsubscribe requests.
  • Assist with annual license renewals while ensuring zero lapses in requirements. 
  • Review and analyze current policies and procedures; identify, recommend, and implement new and/or enhanced practices.
  • Contribute to the development of new and/or enhanced compliance programs and enterprise-wide initiatives, including designing and delivering educational presentations and internal training for employees.
  • Research, analyze, and interpret current, new, and proposed regulatory requirements (e.g., statutes, regulations, bulletins) to determine impact to organization.
  • Provide support related to compliant escalation processes.
  • Compile information for completion of reporting and creating comprehensive reports / dashboards for executive management, state departments of insurance, and federal regulators.
  • Support the ongoing maintenance and oversight of enterprise compliance tools.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 3+ years of regulatory, legal, securities, insurance, or financial services related compliance experience
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical and research skills
  • Proficiency using MS Office tools and Google Docs Editors / Drive
    General knowledge of life insurance products, laws, regulations, rules
  • Bachelor’s degree in risk management, business, pre-law, or other relevant field, or equivalent education and experience
