As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll create intuitive, innovative, and beautiful yet pragmatic software interfaces that our customers will love to use. You’ll rely on user-centered design principles to produce high-quality visuals from concept to execution, and craft new user experiences that help solve complex problems. You’ll collaborate with other product designers, engineers, and product managers to continually refine and iterate the Fleetio design language.

As part of the Core pod, you’ll have a significant impact on Fleetio’s global and foundational experiences, building patterns and interactions that span the platform. Your work will play a crucial role in shaping how our design system evolves, and you’ll collaborate closely with the design system team to ensure scalable and cohesive solutions. By crafting thoughtful and consistent design patterns, you’ll enable teams across Fleetio to deliver exceptional experiences for our customers.

Your impact

  • Design and help implement features that ship quickly and with high quality
  • Create detailed mocks/specs of designs that follow and extend the existing style guide to allow engineers to build new features
  • Drive the development and implementation of global and foundational design patterns that impact the entire platform, ensuring consistency and scalability across Fleetio’s products.
  • Collaborate with the design system team to evolve and maintain component libraries, enabling cross-functional teams to deliver cohesive and user-friendly experiences.
  • Raise the bar for product quality across our products by advocating for user-centered product roadmaps, new interface guidelines and design patterns, investments in refinement, polish and iteration, and insights driven by user research and customer feedback
  • Develop deep empathy for our customers and use research to inform design solutions
  • Compellingly communicate and present design solutions, across a range of mediums and fidelities, to stakeholders and other product designers, while defending design decisions and incorporating feedback into the design cycle
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Engineering and Marketing teams to solve complex problems through discovery, humanize product ideas and develop these ideas into modern, simple and intuitive application designs and features
  • Partner with engineers to ensure high-quality implementation and user experience

Your experience

  • Demonstrated expertise with 5+ years of professional work experience within a SaaS environment focusing on product design and/or user interface design in web and both iOS and Android native
  • BA/BS degree in Design is highly preferred
  • Proven abilities in quickly acquiring deep customer understanding, demonstrating strong empathy, and effectively translating these insights into actionable steps for product design improvements.
  • Extensive experience collaborating with engineering teams, including a strong understanding of React and modern coding frameworks, ensuring seamless implementation of designs.
  • Deep familiarity with design systems, including contributing to, maintaining, and evolving component libraries to ensure consistency and scalability across platforms.
  • Exceptional command and leadership in visual design and information architecture, coupled with a keen sense of simplicity, deep understanding of modern web UI patterns, and an extraordinary eye for typography, consistency, color, and subtle details
  • Advanced understanding of user-centered design thinking and the ability to integrate products/services across a platform, thinking beyond individual screens and considering the broader context of design systems
  • Proficiency in effectively communicating design concepts at various levels of resolution, including sketches, low-fi mockups, hi-fi comps, and interactive prototypes, highlighting strong visual communication skills
  • Extensive experience in collaborating cross-functionally with research, design, product, engineering, data science, and marketing teams to develop successful strategies and make informed decisions
  • Proven track record of bringing projects from concept to completion, showcasing the ability to design and ship software products successfully
  • Expert-level proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma, enabling the creation of wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and prototypes
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach mid-level designers, illustrating leadership and expertise in guiding and developing the skills of others
