Join Flo as a Visual Lead, guiding a team of five experienced designers to shape in-app visuals and illustrations for millions of users. From concept to execution, you’ll create cohesive, captivating experiences while balancing quick iteration with thoughtful user insights. Collaborate with the Head of Visual Design, Product, and Content, driving design quality, user engagement, and streamlined workflows. We’re looking for a hands-on leader who excels at mentorship, champions collaboration and embraces continuous improvement. Your Experience

Must have:

  • 5+ Years of Professional Experience:
    • Proven track record in visual design, graphic design, or illustration;
  • 2+ Years of Leadership Experience:
    • Direct experience guiding, mentoring, and managing design teams;
  • Strong Design Foundations:
    • Deep knowledge of typography, colour usage, visual hierarchy, and up-to-date design principles;
    • Proficient in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), and related software;
  • Project & Operations Management:
    • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Jira) and agile development processes;
    • Demonstrated ability to coordinate resources, set timelines, and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
    • Able to interpret data, anticipate issues, and propose effective design solutions. 
  • Excellent Communication & Leadership:
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills for clear, concise collaboration;
    • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

Nice to have:

  • Prototyping Tools & Design Systems: experience creating interactive prototypes and maintaining comprehensive style guides.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: successful working with diverse teams (e.g., Product, Marketing) to drive cohesive initiatives.

  • Working with the mobile apps: understanding best practices and trends for mobile apps.

  • AI Tools & Technologies: familiarity with emerging AI-driven design or automation platforms.

  • Startup Industry Insights: knowledge of fast-paced, iterative environments and emerging design trends in startups.

What you'll be doing

You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading & Mentoring a Team of Designers: supervise, guide, and motivate visual designers, providing feedback and development opportunities.
  • Driving In-App Visual Excellence: oversee concept creation and execution of graphics illustrations, ensuring consistency and high-quality output.
  • Collaborating Cross-Functionally: partner closely with the Head of Visual Design, Product, and Content teams to align design initiatives with broader business objectives and user needs.
  • Managing Design Operations: implement and optimise workflows, maintain project timelines, and ensure on-time delivery through tools like Jira.
  • Upholding Design Standards: develop and refine style guides, ensuring cohesive colour palettes, typography, and visual hierarchy across all app features. 
  • Implementing Data-Driven Insights: use analytics and user feedback to inform design decisions, improve engagement, and refine user journeys.
  • Ensuring Team & Stakeholder Alignment: present design concepts, gather input and communicate openly with leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Foster Continuous Improvement: encourage learning, experimentation with new tools or technologies (e.g., AI), and a culture of iterative growth within the team.

You'll be targeted on:

  • Design Quality & Consistency
    • Visual Design Alignment Score: the extent to which in-app designs adhere to established style guides and brand principles (e.g., a quarterly design audit rating).
    • Stakeholder Satisfaction: feedback from the Head of Visual Design, Product, and Content on clarity, consistency, and impact of design deliverables.
  • Project Delivery & Efficiency
    • On-Time Delivery Rate: percentage of projects completed within agreed timelines.
    • Rework Frequency: reduction in major revisions is required after the design handoff. 
  • User Engagement & Impact
    • Engagement Metrics: tracking changes in user session duration, feature adoption, or retention after design updates. 
    • User Feedback: improvement in qualitative user survey responses or app store ratings linked to design initiatives. 
  • Team Performance & Development
    • Designer Growth: evidence of skill advancement in the team (e.g., new capabilities acquired, promotions, or successful portfolio updates). 
    • Team Morale & Retention: designer satisfaction (e.g., via surveys or 1:1 feedback) and turnover rate within the design team. 
  • Process & Collaboration
    • Workflow Optimization: measurable improvements in design pipelines (e.g., fewer bottlenecks, faster iteration cycles). 
    • Cross-Functional Alignment: positive partner feedback (Product, Content) regarding communication, clarity, and collaboration effectiveness. 
  • Data-Driven Decision-Making 
    • Testing & Validation: number of A/B tests or user research studies initiated and incorporated into design iterations. 
    • Success Rate of Design Hypotheses: percentage of design changes that meet or exceed predefined engagement or conversion targets.

The salary range for this position in Vilnius, Lithuania starts from 4600 EUR gross/month.

Ranges may vary depending on your skills, competencies and experience.
