Flight Itinerary (About The Role)

We are looking to onboard a Global Payroll Manager to join the crew at FLYR! This individual will support the overall FLYR organization by providing strategic direction of the payroll function, while also being a major contributor to the FLYR culture.

What Your Journey Will Look Like (Responsibilities)

  • Lead the US and international payroll transformation efforts, including automation and building for scale 
  • Drive improvements and efficiencies by partnering closely with People Operations and other teams to establish best practices for global payroll
  • Maximize the effectiveness of technologies and supporting processes to drive continuous improvement and change initiatives
  • Own and oversee all payroll processing worldwide.  This includes all payroll processing functions for both hourly and salaried payroll including variable compensation and equity transactions
  • Manage day-to-day payroll operations, ensuring payrolls are reviewed thoroughly with appropriate updates and submitted accurately/timely and paid according to the payroll schedule.
  • Manage and own all monthly, quarterly, and yearly tasks in addition to year-end procedures including but not limited to reconciliation and posting of journal entries, payroll reconciliations between the accounting system and benefits providers, tax form preparations, etc.
  • Coordinate with the payroll provider(s) regarding any required filings, payments, nuances, and/or updates of payroll tax matters for the US, EMEA, and APAC regions inclusive of proper documentation of these changes.
  • Manage and coordinate payroll registrations for new jurisdictions, maintain login details, and de-activation steps as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all corporate and country-specific policies and procedures
  • Develop and maintain payroll policies, processes, and related internal controls and ensure global regulatory compliance
  • Provide guidance and subject matter expertise on best practices for payroll policies and processes including automation and systems.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop the payroll team to ensure operational excellence and team member engagement while working cross-functionally with finance, People Team, and business leadership to ensure operational alignment
  • Ability to prioritize, manage, identify improvements and follow through on crucial Payroll Department initiatives such as processes, recurring tasks, and projects with minimal supervision and guidance.
  • Lead all payroll external audit activities including audits in relation to the Accounting and HR department.
  • Support pre-deal due diligence on M&A projects and surface possible issues and challenges
  • Oversee post-deal payroll setup, integrations, and business process activities. 

What To Pack For This Trip (Qualifications)

  • Minimum Experience: 10+ years of experience in payroll operations, with specific experience in a global, multi-national company
  • Previous management experience is required.
  • Experience building and scaling a payroll function
  • Extensive system experience, including leading payroll implementations at a domestic and global scale
  • Workday HCM experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance
  • Expertise in both US and global payroll processes including payroll compliance
  • Excellent planning, analytical, interpersonal, and communications skills
  • Flexible - able to perform and deliver exceptional results under high pressure
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field
  • Experience with Paylocity, ADP, CloudPay, and/or other similar payroll systems
  • Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency using Excel or Google Sheets (Vlookups, and Pivot tables)
  • Ability to excel in hyper-growth environments; versatile, capable of managing multiple projects and tasks
  • CPP preferred
