Senior Technical Product Owner

Kraków, Poland

Our Vision

We believe in a world where travel companies can innovate freely, growing and accelerating their business, while delivering the experience travelers want and the change the industry needs.

FLYR is a technology company that unlocks freedom to innovate for the travel industry – eliminating legacy constraints to enable real-time decision making and create the experiences travelers seek. With FLYR, businesses are able to quickly unlock modern retailing capabilities, improve revenue performance and modernize the e-commerce experience.

Flight Itinerary (About The Role)

We’re looking for an experienced Technical Product Owner to own our NDC portal/gateway solution end-to-end. You will define and execute the product vision for airline distribution at FLYR — shaping how airlines and travel sellers onboard, configure, test, and scale NDC across channels. You’ll work closely with customers, commercial teams, and engineers to design an intuitive portal experience, manage a clear backlog, and ensure compliance with IATA NDC while supporting traditional distribution.

This is a hands-on product role that blends strategy, discovery, standards stewardship, and execution. You’ll partner with platform teams (Offer, Order, Product Catalog) and Developer Experience to deliver an API-first, self-serve workflow that accelerates integration and adoption.

What Your Journey Will Look Like (Responsibilities)

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define the NDC product strategy with senior leadership; align objectives to FLYR’s business goals and Developer Portal vision.
  • Build and maintain an actionable roadmap and feature backlog for the NDC portal/gateway.

Discovery & Requirements

  • Run discovery with implementation, commercial, sales, and partner teams to capture needs and pain points.
  • Translate insights into epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria; prioritize by customer impact and strategic value.

Stakeholder Alignment & Evangelism

  • Champion the NDC distribution vision across FLYR; represent airline and seller needs in cross-functional forums.
  • Partner with engineering, DX, and operations to deliver incremental value and a cohesive end-to-end experience.

Delivery & Launch

  • Lead sprint planning and backlog refinement with engineering; drive high-quality releases.
  • Validate outcomes via UAT and coordinate launch, adoption, enablement, and training activities.

Industry & Standards Leadership

  • Stay current on IATA NDC schemas and implementation patterns; translate standards into pragmatic product choices.
  • Ensure the portal supports all distribution channels and accelerates the shift to NDC for airline customers.

Continuous Improvement & Analytics

  • Define product KPIs; analyze usage, reliability, and customer feedback to inform iteration.
  • Perform gap analyses; author business requirements to enhance experience, performance, and compliance.

Platform & Integration Enablement

  • Work with platform teams to ensure consistent data contracts, error handling, and observability across Shop/Buy/Pay/Change/Cancel flows.
  • Collaborate with Developer Experience on documentation, sandbox/testing workflows, and diagnostics to streamline NDC partner onboarding.

What To Pack For This Trip (Qualifications)

Experience

  • 5+ years as a Technical Product Owner (or Product Manager) in airline distribution, travel tech, or adjacent enterprise platforms.
  • Proven success defining strategy and managing roadmaps for complex B2B, API-driven products.

Technical Expertise

  • Deep understanding of IATA NDC concepts (schemas, flows, versioning) and airline merchandising/distribution models (GDS, OTA, TMC).
  • Familiarity with API platforms and integration patterns; fluent in discussing payloads, contracts, and system interoperability.

Collaboration & Influence

  • Track record leading cross-functional initiatives with engineering, implementation, and external partners.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills; able to frame trade-offs and champion a product vision across a fast-growing org.

Ways of Working

  • Comfortable with agile methods and data-driven iteration; disciplined about measurement, quality, and continuous improvement.
