Why it matters: This position offers a key opportunity to support the Charities and Private Wealth Disputes Group by delivering essential Legal PA/secretarial and administrative assistance that contributes directly to the group’s success.

Please note: The role is primarily office-based, and candidates should ideally live within a commutable distance of Exeter.

What you’ll do

This opportunity is ideal for someone with legal secretarial experience who is ready to take ownership of case progression and provide high-quality support in a meaningful and dynamic legal environment.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Support the market-leading Charities and Private Wealth Disputes Group as a trusted and valued member of the team
  • Deliver high-quality legal secretarial support to fee earners in a fast-paced, client-focused environment
  • Manage complex diary schedules and coordinate travel arrangements to ensure fee earners are fully prepared for meetings and commitments
  • Oversee matter setup and ensure compliance with internal risk and regulatory procedures
  • Draft, amend, and maintain precedent letters and house-style documents with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Communicate professionally with clients and stakeholders on behalf of fee earners, ensuring clarity and consistency
  • Occasionally travel to our Bristol office (with travel expenses covered) to support cross-office collaboration
  • Have the opportunity to grow into a lead or supervisory role within the team, with clear pathways for progression

What we’re looking for

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Legal PA or Legal Secretary who demonstrates a proactive mindset and a passion for delivering exceptional support in a legal or professional services environment.

  • Previous experience as a Legal PA or Legal Secretary
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Commercial awareness and a professional, business-focused approach
  • Proficiency in MS Office and legal systems
  • Interest or experience in Charities, Private Wealth, or Disputes work is advantageous but not essential
  • A collaborative spirit and enthusiasm for innovation and shared success
  • Ideally located within commuting distance of Exeter and comfortable with regular office attendance
