Why this role matters: This role is central to ensuring our Managed Legal Services team delivers excellence and innovation.  By driving continuous improvement, embedding efficiency, and shaping how work streams are onboarded, you will directly impact the quality of service our clients receive.  Your work will allow MLS to operate at its best – improving client outcomes, strengthening team performance, and ensuring we stay ahead in a fast-changing legal market.

What you’ll do

In this role, you’ll:

  • Support the Senior Legal Operations Manager in delivering a programme of continuous improvement.
  • Lead and manage key projects, including the implementation of new case management systems, to enhance efficiency, quality and client service delivery.
  • Provide day-to-day oversight of team operations, ensuring work is delivered to a high standard and in line with agreed SLAs.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and manage client expectations across relevant work types.
  • Deliver operational and KPI reporting to support decision making and performance measurement.
  • Drive efficient and innovation by challenging existing MLS strategy and exploring alternative methods of delivery.
  • Supervise, mentor and recruit junior team members.
  • Oversee onboarding of new work stream into MLS, including training, risk assessment and system development.
  • Produce and present management reports, identifying lessons learned and supporting continuous improvement.
  • Act as 'product owner' for key tasks or processes within MLS.

  • Experience in operational/project management or business analysis (legal or professional support desirable).
  • Strong business knowledge and ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to deliver results under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build effective relationships across teams and functions.
  • Proficiency in change management and embedding efficiency in working practices.
  • Confidence with technology-based systems to drive improvements.
  • Demonstrable people management skills and leadership experience.
  • Resilience, along with being adaptable and able to thrive in a fast paced environment.
