What will you be doing?
Career Readiness Coaching
- Provide individualized coaching to students focused on identifying strengths, exploring career pathways, and setting postsecondary goals, using “Skills to Pay the Bills” and other proven frameworks
- Support students with resume development, mock interviews, and workplace readiness
- Collaborate with Special Education teachers and transition coordinators to align coaching with IEP goals
Program Facilitation & Curriculum Development
- Facilitate small-group or classroom-based career exploration sessions for grades 9–12
- Lead workshops, coaching circles, and reflection activities
- Co-develop and adapt curriculum aligned to workforce expectations and IEP transition goals
Outcome & Progress Tracking
- Maintain 100% accuracy in internal tracking systems aligned with funder and compliance expectations
- Support scholars in achieving measurable outcomes such as job placement, certification attainment, and internship participation
Accountabilities
- Ensure 90%+ of assigned scholars have active, individualized career readiness plans
- Deliver at least 2 workforce curriculum sessions weekly and participate in quarterly curriculum reviews
- Maintain 100% compliance with documentation and IEP service notes
- Achieve at least 85% positive scholar feedback on advising and curriculum
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Consulted on IEP and transition planning, curriculum development, and student-employer match processes
- Informed by data from student schedules, grant requirements, and labor market trends
What do we require from you?
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred in Counseling, Education, Social Work, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in youth workforce development, school counseling, or career advising
- Experience designing or adapting career readiness or transition curricula
- Experience working with students with IEPs or diverse learning needs
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with teens
- Comfort facilitating group workshops and 1:1 coaching
- Strong documentation and data-tracking skills
- Semifinalist candidates will be required to provide unofficial transcripts, evidence of certification/eligibility, and 3 professional references.
- Hired candidates are responsible for the following: official transcripts, criminal clearance (fingerprinting), and medical clearance (TB/Mantoux testing).
