Staff Product Engineer

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our team and help us develop the core systems powering client onboarding and reporting part of our business. You will work closely with a talented product and design team, stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, and contribute to a fast-paced, innovative environment. The ideal candidate for this role should be able to deliver across the tech stack and be eager to learn and apply new techniques and technologies.
Responsibilities will include:
- Design and build extensible systems that can grow with the business needs
- Collaborate across disciplines to understand our domain and iterate on new ideas
- Lead technical strategy and decision-making
- Support the Garner app in production
- Protect our users’ privacy and security through secure coding practices
Our software kit:
TypeScript, React, Python, NodeJS, Kubernetes, Istio, Postgres, ElasticSearch, NATS, AWS, Terraform
The ideal candidate has:
- 7+ years of hands-on work delivering full-stack software
- Expertise in TypeScript (preferred) or modern JavaScript
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate design rationale and concepts
- Excellent understanding of SQL and data modeling
- Familiarity with React, NodeJS, Docker, and a major cloud provider
- Familiarity with data ecosystems - DBT, Snowflake, Python
- Experience with one or more database systems, especially PostgreSQL or ElasticSearch
- Experience working in a team using Agile methodologies and fluency with the Agile toolkit
- Experience mentoring team members and acting as a technical multiplier
- A willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and do whatever is necessary to ensure company success
- Experience working in a rapidly evolving startup environment
- A desire to be a part of our mission to improve the U.S. healthcare system

The target salary range for this position is $230,000 - $250,000. Individual compensation for this role will depend on various factors, including qualifications, skills, and applicable laws. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible to participate in our equity incentive and competitive benefits plans.
