Role Overview
The Lead – Logistics Operations will be responsible for managing and improving end-to-end logistics operations, covering first-mile pickups, mid-mile movement, last-mile deliveries, and returns. This role focuses on building smooth, cost-effective, and reliable logistics operations that can scale with the business while ensuring a great customer experience.
This role is suited for someone who has worked in fast-growing startup environments, can think big but also stay hands-on, manage multiple partners, solve day-to-day operational problems, and work closely with internal teams to drive results in a constantly evolving setup.
What You Will Be Doing
End-to-End Logistics Operations
• Manage logistics operations across seller pickups, movement between hubs, deliveries to customers, and returns.
• Ensure orders move smoothly across all stages with minimal delays or failures.
• Improve consistency and reliability across cities, routes, and logistics partners.
Partner & Network Management
• Work closely with courier and transport partners, including onboarding, performance reviews, and day-to-day coordination.
• Build strong working relationships with partners and help them operate efficiently and profitably.
• Ensure partners meet agreed service levels for pickups, movement, deliveries, and returns.
Performance & Cost Improvement
• Track and improve key logistics metrics such as Pickup TAT, Linehaul TAT, FAD, OFD, RTO %, Return Turnaround Time, and Cost per Shipment.
• Drive actions to reduce delivery failures, returns, and unnecessary logistics costs.
• Identify problem areas across hubs, routes, and partners and fix them in a timely manner.
Process Improvement & Tech Adoption
• Set up and improve simple, clear processes for logistics operations.
• Work with tech and product teams to adopt tools that improve visibility, tracking, and control.
• Use data and reports to spot issues early and prevent repeat problems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with Supply, Finance, Tech, Seller Experience, and Customer Experience teams to keep logistics aligned with business needs.
• Support cost discussions, planning, and partner negotiations.
• Act as the point of contact for resolving major operational or partner issues.
Team Leadership
• Guide and support logistics operations team members, helping them perform better and grow.
• Set clear goals and follow up on execution and results.
• Encourage a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Planning & Reporting
• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly logistics reports and dashboards.
• Share clear updates, key risks, and improvement plans with leadership.
• Support long-term planning for scaling logistics operations.
Key Skills & Competencies
• Good understanding of end-to-end e-commerce logistics.
• Experience working with multiple courier or logistics partners.
• Strong skills in Excel, reporting, and basic logistics systems.
• Comfortable working in a startup or high-growth environment with limited structure and high ownership.
• Clear communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Practical problem-solving mindset with a focus on execution.
Qualifications & Experience
• Graduate / Postgraduate.
• 4–6 years of experience in logistics operations, supply chain, or e-commerce fulfilment.
• Prior experience working in a startup, high-growth company, or rapidly scaling business is strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to build processes from scratch and scale operations.
