For more information, visit www.gong.io.

At Gong, you will join a company built on innovative products, ambitious goals, and passionate people. We are shaping the future of revenue intelligence and we want people who are excited to build what comes next. You will work with a team that dreams big, moves fast, and cares deeply about the craft and about each other. Here, transparency and trust are core to how we operate, and every person has the opportunity to make a visible impact. If you want to grow, stretch, and do work that truly matters, Gong is the place to do the best work of your career.

As our Sr. Email Marketing Manager, you will own how Gong shows up in the inbox — across both marketing nurture programs and 1:1 marketing-supported outbound. This is a craft role for someone who treats email as a conversion channel, not a delivery task, and who is equally fluent in brand-led nurture, lifecycle messaging, and the kind of sharp, sales-style emails that get replies. You think in audiences and angles, you use data to drive messaging relevance, and you use AI to explore options and accelerate iteration without sacrificing voice or judgment.

You work alongside a technical GTM Automation & Systems counterpart who owns the underlying infrastructure, audiences, and automation logic, and together you build the most engaging, highest-converting email engine Gong has run yet.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Own Gong's email across the full lifecycle from 1:many brand and nurture programs to 1:few segment campaigns to 1:1 sales-style outreach that drives MQL conversion, ensuring every send has a clear audience, purpose, and next action
  • Write, edit, and continuously optimize email copy that drives engagement and conversion: nurture flows, lifecycle programs, behavioral triggers, event follow-ups, MQL re-engagement, closed-lost reactivation, and high-intent sales sequences
  • Support the automated sales MQL follow up and signal-led motions in partnership with Pipeline Ops and Sales leadership, building Gong Engage flows, reply-driving templates, and personalization frameworks that feel human, relevant, and worth responding to
  • Develop and maintain a library of email frameworks, voice and tone guidelines, subject line patterns, and reusable messaging components that scale across programs without flattening into generic SaaS-speak
  • Build and run a structured testing program, subject lines, send times, angles, CTAs, length, format, personalization depth, and turn results into documented best practices the broader team can apply
  • Partner closely with the Senior GTM Automation & Systems Manager to translate audience strategy and segmentation into messaging that matches the moment, the signal, and the buyer's stage
  • Own email engagement quality and deliverability from a content perspective: sender reputation, engagement rates, list health signals, spam triggers, and brand consistency across every send
  • Use AI tools as a core part of your craft, to generate variants, pressure-test angles, accelerate first drafts, and explore creative directions
  • Collaborate with Demand Gen, Content, Product Marketing, and Field Marketing to ensure email programs reflect current GTM priorities, campaigns, and segment narratives
  • Establish QA standards, copy review processes, and editorial governance so every email that goes out, whether from Marketing or through Engage, meets a consistent quality bar

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years in email marketing, lifecycle marketing, or a closely related role in B2B SaaS or enterprise software, with demonstrated ownership of both marketing nurture programs and sales-style 1:1 email motions
  • Deep understanding of the difference between marketing email and sales emails as channels
  • Hands-on experience writing and optimizing email programs inside Marketo and sales engagement platforms like Gong Engage, Outreach, or Salesloft
  • Proven track record running structured email experimentation programs (A/B and multivariate testing), with the analytical rigor to separate signal from noise and turn results into repeatable patterns
  • Strong working knowledge of email deliverability fundamentals, including engagement-based reputation, list hygiene, suppression strategy, CAN-SPAM and GDPR
  • Working understanding of GTM strategy fundamentals, including ICP, personas, buying stages, and signals
  • Background working in environments where marketing email and SDR outreach are tightly coordinated (e.g., Marketo + Gong + Salesloft/Outreach + Salesforce); experience writing for or partnering with sales teams is preferred
  • Strong editorial instincts paired with strong data instincts; you obsess over the narrative, a single subject line, and the conversion rate of a 12-step nurture with equal energy
  • Collaborative systems thinker who can partner closely with a technical automation counterpart, translate strategy into messaging, and document craft so others can apply it

Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
