The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager, Member Marketing & Communications to lead our member communications strategy and drive initiatives that improve the overarching member experience. This individual will be focused on efforts that both improve member engagement with the product and drive increased retention.
This role reports to the Head of Product Marketing & Consumer Experience, and is a hybrid role with three days a week onsite at our office in Midtown Manhattan.
What You’ll Own
- Own all lifecycle marketing communications for Good Inside members. This includes:
- All triggered communications at key points in the customer journey: The first two weeks of membership, renewal moments, milestones, etc
- All campaign based communications for workshops and member events
- Drive increased consumer engagement within our app
- All ad hoc communication for launches, announcements, etc.
- Help build, implement and optimize a 365 member communications strategy designed to improve retention and community engagement
- Partner with the marketing team to develop monthly member campaigns
- Establish the personalization strategy for members within communications; partner with the ML team on broader personalization efforts
- Drive the member segmentation strategy and determine the best approaches to improve relevance of communications
- Partner with the push & SMS team to ensure coordinated messaging across the member journey
- Drive efforts to decrease churn both within communications and within member plan management experiences, such as cancellation flows, upgrade flows, and downgrade flows
- Partner closely with the app and community teams to ensure a strong member experience for all new initiatives and campaigns (i.e - Is our product delivering on the campaign? Are we making the best possible use of the facts we know about members?)
- Partner with data to establish leading indicators of member marketing effectiveness and build lifecycle performance dashboards
- Lead member marketing experimentation to decrease churn
KPIs
- Retention: Improve existing member retention
- Engagement: improve member engagement with Gi content across our app, library and community
Your Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of experience in member and lifecycle marketing in a B2C/subscription environment
- Deep experience with Braze. Ability to work independently in the platform to both implement audiences and build campaigns
- Experience working with Amplitude and Segment
- Extremely strong attention to detail; has low tolerance for consumer facing errors
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions. You should have a strong POV on the data needed to run an effective member marketing program, be able to conduct your own analysis and make data backed recommendations in a simple manner. We appreciate an inquisitive spirit when it comes to data!
- Experience with email copy development. (Note: We have a small copy team, and are looking for someone who is comfortable occasionally writing drafts when the team is bogged down. If that makes you uncomfortable, this probably isn’t for you!)
- Proficiency in using AI tools for content creation and optimization
- Is comfortable working through ambiguity and is able to bring clarity to complex situations
- Strong communicator who is able to break down complex situations into simple-to-understand concepts
- Start-up experience preferred
- Passion for helping families and children a must
