The Opportunity

Good Inside is looking for an innovative storyteller and a pragmatic Manager of Product Analytics, who can turn data into actionable business recommendations primarily for the Product team, but also contribute to analysis for the Marketing, Content, and Finance functions. You'll work closely with stakeholders across Good Inside, collaborating to drive real-world impact and address the most pressing business questions that need to be solved. We need someone who can cut through the business and data noise, identify what truly matters, and communicate insights in plain English. It’s an exciting time in Good Inside’s journey to be a foundational part of setting the direction the team will take by unlocking the potential behind our data! This is a hybrid role based in Manhattan with three days onsite.

What You’ll Own

  • Platforms: Segment and Amplitude, including collaborating with Engineering on event tracking
  • Problem Solving: Hear ambiguous business needs and propose the best plan to address those questions with a grounded data-first framework
  • Experimentation: Act as a thought partner for designing hypotheses to test, whether formal A/B tests or conceptual, ambiguous business questions 
  • Strong Listening & Clear Communication: Turn your understanding of the team’s needs into insights that can be articulated back to the team in an easy-to-follow manner 
  • Insight Generation: Analyze qualitative, quantitative, and behavioral data sets to uncover actionable insights that drive business growth and product improvements
  • Visualization: create visualizations in Amplitude and edit / audit existing charts made by Product Managers for accuracy – bonus if you have SQL experience and can analyze data from our warehouse, (Snowflake) using our BI tool (Mode Analytics) 
  • Prioritization: Focus on high-impact analyses that move the business forward, balancing speed and accuracy, including being able to produce a “day 1” answer and clearly identify how any additional work on refinement of your quick cut answer would improve the business decision

 Your Skills & Experience

  • You have 5+ years of experience in an data analytics role  that includes exposure to product metrics and product events 
  • You are an intermediate-to-advanced user of  Segment and Amplitude, and ideally have had exposure to Braze 
  • You have experience with data warehouses like Snowflake, and are competent writing SQL queries and/or doing exploratory data analysis using Python
  • You are a fast learner who knows how to educate yourself on new topics
  • A practical mindset that prioritizes actionable insights; you are comfortable delivering an 80% correct answer that gets the team moving and can articulate the tradeoffs and risks of using the quick answer over a perfect answer 
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, with the ability to dissect the true business needs by reading between the lines of what is being asked, proposing the path forward, and bringing even your non-data savvy stakeholders along with you
  • A bias for action balanced with the ability to prioritize your work and collaboratively manage stakeholder expectations on output and timelines
  • Strong business acumen to identify which analytics asks will make the most impact on business value and a keen understanding of how data analytic insights translate to business value
  • Experience collaborating with diverse teams and the ability to build strong relationships across the organization You are a thought partner and sounding board to your colleagues in Product and other functions

  • You're always thinking about the next step: "Now that we know this, what should we do?" and you proactively answer the next layer questions
  • You're not afraid to challenge assumptions and can back up your recommendations with solid data
  • You're excited about continuously learning and adapting your skills to drive business impact
