About the Team:
The Engineering Management team supports Gotion’s U.S. utility‑scale energy storage power station projects. The team coordinates engineering execution across internal technical groups, project management teams, and external partners such as utilities, EPC contractors, and permitting authorities. Our current projects span the full lifecycle—from development and permitting through construction and commissioning. The team is expanding to meet growing project demand and plays a critical role in ensuring smooth, technically sound project delivery.
Role Summary:
The Power Station Management Manager will lead engineering coordination activities for Gotion’s U.S. energy storage power station projects. Serving as the primary local engineering interface, this role is responsible for managing permitting and interconnection processes, overseeing site engineering planning, and providing construction‑phase technical support.
The manager works closely with project management teams in China; U.S. utilities; EPC partners; and internal engineering teams to ensure projects meet schedule, regulatory requirements, and technical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering coordination for U.S. energy storage power station projects from development through construction readiness.
- Ensure engineering deliverables align with project schedules, permitting requirements, and construction milestones.
- Coordinate with local authorities, utilities, and consultants to support permitting and regulatory approvals.
- Support grid interconnection applications and communications with utilities and ISO/RTO organizations.
- Provide engineering oversight during construction phases and equipment installation.
- Coordinate resolution of technical issues between EPC contractors, equipment suppliers, and internal engineering teams.
- Collaborate with development, project management, procurement, and technical teams to ensure integrated project execution.
- Work closely with global engineering teams to maintain consistency in technical standards and solutions.
- Identify engineering risks that may impact project schedule, cost, or technical performance.
- Drive timely resolution of technical issues during engineering and construction stages.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in engineering management, infrastructure projects, or energy‑related industries
- Proven experience coordinating engineering deliverables across diverse internal and external stakeholders
- Experience working with utilities, EPC contractors, or large‑scale infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of construction engineering processes
- Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder‑management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in utility‑scale energy storage systems (BESS) or renewable energy projects
- Experience with U.S. interconnection processes (ISO/RTO or utility‑level)
- Experience managing engineering teams or project engineers
- Familiarity with permitting processes for energy or large infrastructure projects
- Experience working in multinational or cross‑cultural project environments
The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $155,000.00 - $220,000.00, plus eligibility for bonus and benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by factors such as the role, level, and geographic location.
