The Opportunity

To achieve our ambitious goals, we are seeking a dedicated and detail-driven Accounts Payable Manager to join our Finance team. This role will manage Grammarly’s global accounts payable processes across the US and Europe and lead and guide a growing team.

The ideal candidate will streamline and optimize our AP processes by championing best practices and exploring innovative solutions, including opportunities to automate manual tasks. As a key collaborator within our Finance team and across the company, they’ll identify process gaps, creatively solve problems, and ensure we consistently meet our high standards for accuracy and efficiency. This is an excellent role for someone who thrives on balancing team leadership with individual contributions and wants to make a real impact on a global scale.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage the company's global accounts payable process (US and Europe-based), ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices and reviewing and auditing vendors’ data and signed documents.
  • Manage and oversee AP team members and their performance, providing support and guidance to help them succeed.
  • Effectively manage our travel and expense policies and processes.
  • Review expense coding for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain metrics and reports to track accounts payable performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with various stakeholders within Finance and the company to identify problems and process gaps and propose reasonable and creative solutions to improve processes, including opportunities for automating manual processes.
  • Support the month-end close accrual and accounts payable reconciliation process, preparing the necessary documentation and ensuring accuracy.
  • Assist in the financial audit process by preparing and providing necessary audit documentation and responses.

Qualifications

  • Has a degree in Accounting or equivalent.
  • Demonstrates substantial accounts payable knowledge of IFRS (US GAAP is a plus).
  • Has experience managing a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Has 7+ years of experience in corporate accounting.
  • Strong English proficiency (both written and verbal).
  • Has a customer-centric approach and excellent communication skills.
  • Has an ownership mindset with the ability to work remotely and independently.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office tools and has experience using ERP and P2P systems (NetSuite, Coupa, Navan, or similar).
  • Has experience working in a multinational environment.
  • Has experience developing scalable, efficient, and controlled processes.
  • Is able to work primarily on the US (PST) based hours - up to 10 pm CET regularly and up to 1 AM CET during the first week of the month.
  • Embodies our EAGER values—is ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, and remarkable.
  • Is inspired by our MOVE principles, which are the blueprint for how things get done at Grammarly: move fast and learn faster, obsess about creating customer value, value impact over activity, and embrace healthy disagreement rooted in trust.

  • A connected team: Grammarly builds a product that helps people connect, and we apply this mindset to our own team. Our remote-first hybrid model enables a highly collaborative culture supported by our EAGER (ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, and remarkable) values.
