About the Role:
Join Gusto as a GTM Recruiter, Marketing and play a pivotal role in shaping our team and culture. You'll lead full-cycle recruiting across Marketing and GTM/Sales functions, partnering closely with senior leaders to build scalable hiring strategies and attract top talent. About the Team:
At Gusto, the People team is the foundation of everything we do. We believe that attracting, hiring, developing, and retaining talent is core to our success. As a Foundation Recruiter at Gusto, you’ll flex to own a range of searches including (but not limited to): HR/People, Accounting/Finance, Legal/Compliance and Executive Operations. You will be a true business partner to our hiring managers, heavily impact Gusto’s hiring strategy, and hire world-class talent.
Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:
- Own and drive full-cycle recruiting for Gusto’s Marketing org—spanning Brand, Growth, PMM, Content, and Creative roles—while identifying scalable approaches for hiring across multiple functions
- Frame complex role requirements and build structured hiring strategies aligned to the business
- Apply first-principles thinking to creatively solve hiring challenges and unlock top talent
- Balance a dynamic requisition load of 15–20 roles at a time, across 3–5 distinct functions—adjusting strategies based on shifting business priorities
- Flex into high-volume GTM hiring (e.g. Sales roles) during slower Marketing cycles to ensure consistent team support and business impact
- Partner directly with senior stakeholders in Marketing and Revenue to align hiring plans to team goals, navigating ambiguity with clarity and influencing without authority
- Craft tailored sourcing strategies that prioritize creativity, resourcefulness, and inclusion—leveraging tools, networks, and insights to build robust pipelines
- Deliver a standout candidate experience through thoughtful communication, expectation-setting, and trust-building—acting as a reliable guide for candidates throughout their journey
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Comp, HRBPs, and Executive Ops to ensure alignment, smooth processes, and role clarity
- Lead with data by tracking key recruiting metrics, identifying trends, surfacing blockers, and proactively adjusting course to meet hiring outcomes
Here’s what we're looking for:
- 5–8 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a strong track record in both Marketing (3–5 years) and GTM/Sales (2–3 years)
- Proven success supporting high-volume Sales orgs and managing 15–20+ roles across multiple disciplines with minimal oversight
- Deep experience partnering with senior-level executives and hiring managers, offering strategic guidance and influencing decision-making throughout the recruiting process
- Skilled at sourcing and closing talent across entry to mid-level roles—bringing a consultative and creative approach to engaging candidates
- Fluency in Greenhouse is required; experience with Workday is a strong plus
- Demonstrated ability to build representative, inclusive candidate pipelines and coach hiring managers on equitable hiring practices
- Strong candidate assessment skills—you know how to surface core strengths, match candidates to the right opportunity, and elevate the bar for talent across the business
- Operates with urgency, resilience, and adaptability in a fast-changing, high-growth environment
- Brings a first-principles mindset to challenges and constantly seeks ways to work smarter, not just harder
- Communicates clearly and with purpose—whether influencing a hiring panel, delivering feedback, or crafting a narrative from recruiting data
Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $144,000-$160,000 per year in New York City & San Francisco and $119,000-$135,000 per year in Denver. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.
Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.
