Job Description:
The Accounting Manager is a highly motivated professional who serves as a key member of the Accounting organization. The Accounting Manager will report to the Sr. Director, External Reporting, Technical Accounting and Equity Administration. The Accounting Manager will oversee the day-to-day accounting operations in several areas, including accounts payable, general ledger, payroll, and consolidations as well as the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage daily accounting operations and accounting close to ensure an efficient, accurate, and timely close process in accounts payable, general ledger, accruals, treasury and cash management, payroll, fixed assets, intercompany and other areas as needed
- Preparation, review and approval of journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reports and flux analyses
- Oversee the consolidation of financial results for all domestic and international subsidiaries
- Support the external financial quarterly review and annual audit by preparing audit schedules and providing necessary supporting documentation
- Maintain SOX compliance to ensure internal controls are operating effectively and documenting evidence of performance
- Manage, train and mentor accounting staff
- Continuously seek and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes, workflows, and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Coordinate with cross-functional departments to ensure financial activities are aligned and reporting is accurate
- Other duties as assigned
Skills Needed:
- Strong understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), full cycle accounting, and applicable laws and regulations
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines
- Attention to detail to ensure quality work
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with others in a collaborative team environment
- Ability to analyze financial data to draw insights, provide feedback and guidance based on analysis, and communicate findings
Educational Requirements & Work Experience:
- S. in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 6+ years’ relevant experience in an accounting lead role, including supervision of staff
- Public company experience a plus
- CPA preferred
- Prior experience with NetSuite preferred
- Proficient in Word, Excel and other Microsoft applications
