Senior Software Engineer, Device Infrastructure

About The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer you will work with the hardware and software teams to build scalable infrastructure to support Humane’s mission to reimagine computing. You will support Humane’s automated hardware in the loop test framework, Jarvis, build physical and virtual test fixtures, and improve the software test infrastructure by adding new features to Jarvis, supporting cross-functional teams using Jarvis to validate product features, writing tools and bringing infrastructure improvements to existing workflows. You will also leverage your knowledge and expertise to implement new workflows, if needed.
What You Might Do
- Support cross functional teams in debugging efforts with framework, pipeline, or testbed triage (fix test framework bugs, triage framework failures, support electrical engineering/factory tooling needs)
- Design, build, and facilitate improvements of automation test fixtures for Humane’s Ai Pin and its accessories through cross-functional work
- Implement or deliver improvements to software tooling and infrastructure to enable device and service test automation
- Write design documents and implement new framework features to enable further automation to Humane’s Ai Pin and future products
- Iterate quickly to enable the company to play, explore, adapt, and re-work along the way
Essential Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience building software/hardware test infrastructure
- Experience with Docker or other container platforms
- Experience with Git or other SCM tools
- Programming experience in Bash, Python, C/C++ and/or Java
- Strong communication skills and highly collaborative
- Strong attention to detail and knowledge of engineering best practices
Preferred Skills
- Experience with test automation, factory software tooling, and Test Fixture Design (including CAD)
- Knowledge of continuous integration tools (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub, etc.)
- Network administration (e.g., VLANs) and source control systems
- Expertise in electronics and embedded systems, including schematics, UART communications, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and other hardware domains
- Familiarity with Android internals and battery-constrained systems
Salary Range: $170,000 - $210,000

- The salary range for this role is listed above. Final salary offered is based upon multiple factors including individual job-related qualifications, education, experience, knowledge and skills
