Your role at impact.com:
As a Finance Intern at impact.com, you will start your career in the dynamic world of Finance. We're looking for detail-oriented, motivated individuals to join our Global Finance team.
This is your opportunity to learn and adapt within a fast paced, high responsibility environment.
You will gain hands-on experience, working with a diverse team, and making a real impact. This is a rotational-style opportunity meant for a curious, detail-oriented individual who wants to understand how a single operational transaction moves through the business and eventually hits the general ledger. The ideal candidate is able to work independently and accurately, with a high degree of professionalism. This will be a 12-month, hybrid internship.
What you'll do:
Corporate Accounting:
- Support the Corporate Accounting team by performing daily cash matching, ensuring all bank activity aligns with internal records. Investigate discrepancies between bank statements and ledger entries, working to resolve "breaks" in real-time.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy in our financial systems to ensure a "clean" month-end close process
Financial Operations:
- Cross functional learning of our financial operations processes through accounting for the transactional activity in your support of the cash accounting, including collaborating with the various financial operations teams to understand inputs into the cash activity.
- Opportunity to transition over into the various financial operations streams to provide support in those specific silo’s depending on the needs of that function.
- Professional & Personal Growth: Develop crucial skills to enable progression within the corporate finance and financial operations work streams. In addition, you will gain access to finance networks and mentors offering guidance and support.
What you bring:
- Professional traits: Self-driven with a Positive attitude, displaying good time management and organizational skills. Having the ability to communicate with internal peers and stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for accuracy with the ability to analyse financial data and apply it to financial systems.
- Digital Savvy: Experience in navigating Microsoft and Google suite applications.
- Independent and Collaborative: Ability to work autonomously and within a team.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
- Degree / qualifications:
- Tertiary level qualification in Financial Accounting / Commerce / Economics or Business Administration
- Studying towards Honors or Masters within Finance would be advantageous
- Completed Data analytics, advanced systems, or Business leadership certifications would be advantageous
