About The Role

We’re hiring an experienced and visionary Sr. Manager, Content and Social Strategy to join our marketing team at Industrious to lead the development and implementation of a full-funnel content strategy to fuel our business growth and member engagement.  Using your keen storytelling abilities, you’ll develop engaging content strategies that resonate with current and future members and bring those strategies to life across our organic social channels, website, blog, email, and more.  As a key leader on our marketing team, you will work closely with the Director of Marketing, Brand and Member Engagement and Director of Marketing, Growth to shape the future direction of our content strategy, actively contributing to ideation, creation, and execution. You’ll be expected to take on both a player (hands-on) and coach (manager) of one internal copywriter and additional contractors (ex. content creators) as needed.  This role is 40% focused on social media, 20% brand and thought leadership content, 20% member communications and 20% process to build our dynamic and scalable content engine.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be a strong self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, and have a comprehensive understanding of our product offerings, value proposition, customer segments, and market priorities. This role demands the ability to synthesize diverse inputs and data into a global yet regionally relevant marketing content strategy and brand messaging framework that delivers content with a purpose.

Close cross-functional collaboration and engagement with our local teams and member community are essential to this role, requiring in-person presence 2-3 days a week in either our Chicago or New York City area locations.

What you’ll do:

  • Create and maintain a diverse content portfolio across multiple formats and channels, including organic social media (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, etc.), short and long-form editorial and branded content, member case studies and testimonials, website, blogs, video scripts, etc. with a focus on a variety of audiences (ex. from individual coworking members through Fortune 500 decision makers).
  • Own and expand on our existing organic social strategy, with a focus on IG, LinkedIn and TikTok to maximize reach and engagement while also aligning with overarching business goals; leveraging part-time content creators and other partners as needed.
  • At least to start, you’ll manage our organic social channels end-to-end, including the content execution (content calendar, planning, reviewing, approving, and posting), and community management (moderating messages/comments, engaging with relevant creators, future customers, etc.)
  • Continuously collaborate with internal and external teams including Growth Marketing, Brand Marketing & Creative, Member Programming and Events, Public Relations, Executive Leadership, Member Experience, Operations, Product Management, and more to ensure content synchronicity with strategic business and marketing initiatives.
  • Manage the entire content lifecycle, from concept to distribution, which includes planning, content creation and editing, publishing, and monitoring content performance.
  • Lead briefing sessions and contribute to the development of content narratives for full-funnel marketing programs, ensuring alignment with demand generation goals.
  • Establish content KPIs, provide regular performance analyses to stakeholders, and refine content strategies based on data-driven insights.
  • Identify and activate new and innovative content opportunities for Industrious to welcome, empower, and delight current and future prospective members!

Job Requirements

  • 7+ years of high-level communication experience with a solid background in content strategy, social media, editorial/content production, brand marketing or related fields
  • Proven leadership with experience guiding an internal and external content team to achieve outstanding outcomes. Past success working on cross-channel and cross-functional projects.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to articulate complex strategies to various stakeholders.
  • Ability to thoroughly understand Industrious member profiles, speaking to them in a way that “just gets them,” while also understanding how to balance this consumer focus with business objectives.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness and engagement.
  • Comfortable working with remote teams and proficient in using various operating systems and communication tools.
  • Skilled at developing and implementing new processes that drive efficiency.
  • A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Mastery of video, audio, and/or long-form editorial formats, with a focus on effectively matching the medium to the message to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Proven success managing organic social channels (with or without creating the content itself) and shaping social strategy.
