About the role:
Industrious is at an inflection point, with an incredible amount of opportunity in front of us to write the next chapter of how we nurture our special #soindustrious team, bring our expertise in workplace experience to millions of people around the world, build new business lines, and scale sustainable economics.
We’re looking for a leader to join our executive team who can help us navigate this next phase by initially focusing on the core of how our team works and how our company functions globally, including:
- Develop people systems that bring our unique culture to life — spanning talent acquisition, onboarding, learning & development, and people operations.
- Design and drive key business rhythms — from goal setting and planning to cross-functional collaboration and execution.
You’ll apply sharp business acumen and critical thinking, cultivate strong followership among and grow leaders around you, all with your own spin on our head, heart, and hands values.
Your role will require a breadth of skills. A single week might involve: doing a round of teammate check-ins to guide where you think our ELT and leadership team need to spend more/less time; outlining a refreshed point of view on our teammate value prop; vibe coding a prototype for a tool you think could boost our own teammates’ experience; implementing a new system for visibility and prioritization across ongoing cross-functional projects; figuring out how to set up operations in a new country; defining what success looks like with relevant CBRE stakeholders for a joint project; or wearing a funny costume while hosting a simultaneous virtual Oympics-style competition between all Industrious cities.
You’ll be successful in this role if you are a sharp critical thinker with strong financial and business acumen who tends to see around the next corner, a leader people want to follow and who can lift up the people around you, can take ideas from thought to execution and support others to do so as well, excel when you’re simultaneously managing multiple critical company-level initiatives, and want to be a leader in a culture that’s full of kind, smart, low-ego, goofy people.
You’ll love this role if:
- You are known for rocketing forward the careers of the people you work with. You naturally empower and coach. People love working with and for you.
- You easily zoom between big picture, company-level questions and day-to-day decision-making. You have a strength in prioritization, both for your own time and getting groups of cross-functional teams to march to the beat of the same drum.
- You like process - designing it, implementing it, driving it, scaling it.
- You hoover up best practices and new practices from other companies and organizations. You are always on the lookout for the next great idea and excited to bring that to your own team.
- You have a knack for understanding what teams want and need, even before they know it, and even when the decisions are hard. You easily translate that into tangible skills, traditions, systems, and tools, people love.
- You’re a relatively structured thinker and relish breaking complex, seemingly intractable problems down and working with the team around you until you’ve broken through to solutions. The messier the problem the more excited you get. You haven’t met a legal problem you’re not excited to break through.
- You really do believe in the power of in-person experiences at work to positively impact peoples’ lives. You get energy from figuring out what makes people have a really great day at the office. How can you help them belong? Feel welcomed, empowered, and delighted?
- You are not too cool for school. You’d be willing to, ideally even excited about, leading a Beyonce or Taylor Swift dance competition (real thing that recently happened.)
This role isn’t for you if:
- You get stressed when you’re keeping multiple balls in the air
- You love designing solutions to people or internal ops challenges, but you don’t want to be the tip of the spear for actually leading the change management to implement those solutions
- You find that you don’t tend to gravitate towards getting to know your colleagues deeply as people
- You’ve never led a team through a major transition
- You shy away from healthy conflict, or you know that you avoid tough conversations
- You know that working cross-functionally drains your energy (even if you also know it’s important)
- You’re not already a daily user of AI
What you bring to the table:
- You’ve led at scale - managed a distributed team across multiple geographies, balancing connection with operational excellence.
- You’ve built through growth - helped take a company from mid-tier to big-tier, shaping the people engine that powered expansion.
- You’ve operated within complexity - navigated a global business where influence happens one-to-many, not just one-to-one.
- You’ve sat at the senior table - partnered with other executives to grind through global company strategy, especially in the late-stage growth push to double in size.
Compensation:
The annual base compensation range for this role is between $260,000 and $280,000. The successful candidate's actual base compensation will be based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to work experience, job-related knowledge, skills, and professional qualifications. You will also be eligible for an annual 15% bonus and participation in our long-term incentive program.
Base and bonus compensation are just two components of Industrious’ total compensation package for this role. Other great perks and benefits include heavily subsidized healthcare plans, generous paid time off, wellness programs, professional development grants, 401k plan, and many other benefits, subject to applicable eligibility criteria and company policies.
